The Grammys: Theater of Antichrist
La Salette JOurney ^ | February 1, 2014 | Paul Melanson

Posted on 02/01/2014 7:56:45 AM PST by cleghornboy

In his excellent and prophetic book Trousered Apes, Professor Duncan Williams documented extensively the banishment of God from society in the West and said that as a result, "the Western world and its culture is saturated with violence and animalism....We are teaching savagery and are naively appalled at the success of our instruction."

Professor Williams continues, "What shocks an audience today will be acceptable tomorrow and thus the contemporary dramatist [or reality show producer, my note] is constantly impelled to seek further excesses to gratify a warped taste which he has himself implanted in the public mind....The whole modern cult of violence and animalism is in essence an admission of defeat. Since we cannot be men to any idealistic extent, let us lapse into barbaric animalism but, still clinging to vestiges of a past which we hate but cannot escape, let us clothe our defeat in high-sounding terms: 'alienation,' 'cult of unpleasure,' 'realism,' and similar jargon. Yet all this fashionable phraseology cannot conceal the fact that the Emperor has no clothes....The contemporary playwright or producer might well take as his motto, Apres moi, la secheresse (After me, the drought), and congratulate himself that he is writing before a morbid public appetite demands scenes of such repellent realism that actors and actresses will have to be killed on stage in order to satisfy it."

Society can not banish God and consequences from the culture and then be surprised by the violence and crime that follows.

The farther the political left pushes itself away from God, the more they will embrace depravity. It’s inevitable, because no one is really free. You either serve the one God, or you serve the master of those who reject Him. That is demonstratable by their behavior, and how they with one mind seem to be heading in the same direction, as if following the beat of a distant drum.

God could banish our society, but we seem to be doing one hell of a job of it already.

Thanks for posting = this is outstanding and right on target. I have Father Miceli’s work- “The AntiChrist” in my personal library and realize it is time for a re read.

The most holy priest I know is a La Salette priest. He offers the “extraordinary” form mass and his Latin is just beautiful to hear. The point is that the LaSalette charism is worth paying close attention to and bears good spiritual fruit/discernment.

I thought politics was the theater of Antichrist.

I think I have the wrong Professor Williams. Trousered Apes was written in 1972. The Professor Williams I had in mind is much too young to be the same man.

Of course none of this is a surprise to God. In fact he told us about this 2000 years ago when he gave St. John the contents of the Book of Revelation. We are living in the Laodecian church age, the last age before the taking up of believers, the tribulation and Great tribulation, and His return as the Prince of Peace to rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Notice how the Laodecian church age is characterized by Jesus and compare it to the world today: the world says, "I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing" (Rev 3:17) and how for the first time since before Noah, God has been so rejected by this age, that Jesus is pictured outside politely knocking, not forcing himself on us, but patiently waiting with a heart of love and compassion (Rev 3:20).

No one knows the day or the hour (Mark 13:32), but as children of light, we should know the times and the seasons (I Thessalonians 5:1,5). We are in the last age which is drawing to a close. However, watch for the latter rain spoken of by Joel (Joel 2:23) and a return by many to the gospel of the grace of God with many coming to him (Jude 3). America and the world could experience a reversal in yet another miraculous and merciful move of God (Matt 22:9-10) before he comes for his church and the end begins to happen.

As an independent, free-thinking individual I have choices, and I choose to not watch the filth that passes for entertainment today.

On a more fundamental level, media depravity will continue for as long as product sales by advertisers are not negatively affected. Want to rid the airwaves of garbage? Target the companies that buy ad time on these programs. The prospect of economic ruin has a very sobering effect on most businesses, while others will choose to ride the steed of perversity into oblivion.

It's not just God that contemporary mainstream culture is rejecting. It's the best instincts of man. Nietzsche did express that when man rejects God, the worst instincts of man will dominate. Thus, we need God whether he exists or not. Mankind fails miserably at being the best there is, on its own.

Why do I point this out? Even atheists need God, or civilization will not survive.

or you serve the master of those who reject Him. That is demonstratable by their behavior, and how they with one mind seem to be heading in the same direction, as if following the beat of a distant drum.

They hear his voice calling to them from inside their heads. Just as Julian Jaynes theorized that men did hear his voice ( and the voices of his minions) thousands of years ago in audible hallucinations (The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind).

Brings to mind the Biblical admonition of "As it was in the times of Noah, so it shall be when the Son of Man returns." (Luke 17:26)

CS Lewis was so good at explaining the fallenness of human soul in story form... I’m going to see a play tonight based on Lewis’ book “The Great Divorce”, should be interesting and fun. As far as the reality of it all, Romans chapter One... we can expect no less than God removing his divine protection from America, and turning us over to the inevitable end of depravity, as a natural judgment; and maybe the yellow stone caldera eruption as a more supernatural judgement.

It is very interesting because what we are experiencing is a complete and total return of ANCIENT PAGANISM reminiscent of the Old Testament times. That is what existed BEFORE CHRIST, and that is being celebrated once again in a culture that is more and more rejecting Christ.

Some may call it “progressive” but it is nothing more than a re-establishment of ancient civilization in many cases, pre-Christ. This, I believe, is one of the reasons why Bible prophecy in the New Testament has an Old Testament feel to it. If we deviate from what is right, wrong, true, and lasting it will be because of our pride, willful ignorance and rejection of the truth, and a hardened heart, which work together to cause chaos and disorder morally, spiritually, and ethically, which in turn calls for a “need” for Government to step in as the only available means to keep people in check. This is what the Roman Government did, and it did keep people in check.

In every “new” way of life that deviates from God, we see an re-establishment of the “old” order.

“....the more they will embrace depravity.”

.
Isn’t that exactly the left’s intent?

Erase Judeo-Christians principles and introduce depravity and Islam.
