Kerry Presents Russian Counterpart with a Pair of Potatoes

Secretary of State John Kerry presented Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov not with a reset button at today’s Syria talks in Paris, but with… a pair of potatoes.

(snip)

At their joint press conference, a confused Russian reporter asked about the gift. “It is a symbolic gift? What does it mean?”

“Well, he told me he’s not going to make vodka. He’s going to eat them,” Kerry quipped before changing the subject.

“With respect to the potatoes, I really want to clarify: There’s no hidden meaning,” he later said. “There’s no metaphor. There’s no symbolic anything. ......."

Lord. I know that the government puts huge rules against giving gifts and some of the rules are tough. However, I think we can do better than an I-Pod and two potatoes. Make no mistake though, you will not see the United States giving these incredible gifts to foreign dignitaries like we get from them. Our country is tight when it comes to gift giving.

Just try getting a couple of raw spuds through TSA screening. Tell them they’re a gift for your Russian friends. See how far you get.

Well, it must be said that Kerry looks kind of like a potato. Just photoshop the hair, eyes and teeth on it, and there you are: John Kerry!

From the look of that thing, it might have seen the down and low side of BathHouse Barry and his little lover boy, Reggie Love. So now we have our Sec/State, Lurch, passing really weird stuffits to the Russkies. Is the doofus insane?????????
