Hello again FReepers. Yet again another medical issue, undoubtedly related to my cancer surgery a month ago.
This time I did not have any time to post before discovering the issue, so after many days of being in the hospital I can give more information than guessing and ask for continued prayers.

On Thanksgiving, of all days, I had unmistakeable pain from my neck/shoulder down my back, and by evening it was definitely matched up with an odd pain in the middle-right of my abdomen. (I'd felt these pains before, but separately.) I seemed to have some troubles being satisfied with breathing, and would take many deep breaths - which brought on the pain for real, especially the shocking stabbing pain at my neck. The pain did not go away by Friday morning, so I tried to call my oncologist's office, partly because I feared running up against my follow-up appt on Monday. I actually thought I might be having gall bladder problems. However, my oncologist (who happened to be on call that day off) said she feared embolism, so I should call my regular doc (I tried feebly with that, whole story on GPs here) of go to ER if needed.
So I went to ER with my sick husband, who was relieved by my dad a few hours later. Good thing because we were there for some 8 hours. CAT scan said pulmonary embolism. I about crumbled with fear.
I'm dealing with the "rare" cancer diagnosis (which seems OK - onc said incidentally my CAT the week before showed good lungs, and urine test was good, no word on blood yet). On top of it the idea of this rather dangerous condition has me again scared especially for my little son and my mother who already had 1 daughter die last year.
Sometimes I feel God has sent me to the hospital just in time, when I would not have had any feeling something was wrong. So I am grateful. But I still would appreciate prayers.
I spent 6 days in the hospital over this, and am going down (for now) the Coumadin road.
The good news emotionally is that other people visited me this time, rather than just my very immediate (small) family. Old neighbors and a friend, and even my BIL and wayward niece (the 1 I less expect to care than her twin).
Anyway, prayers appreciated, and so glad you have helped me in the past!

Hope and prayers for you for the best outcome.

Prayers for sure. You’ve been through so much, but it seems you’ve managed to keep a sense of relative calm and a bit of humor through it all. Always my idea of the best medicine.

To: All; Salvation
Thank you all.
1 doctor told me (he was very nice; I had several doctors in the hospital over all those days) “this is just a bump in the road”.
I hope he is right!
May I ask for the prayer ping, Sal? I could swear someone else had a ping, but maybe I’m remembering wrongly.
