Watch this short report on the brutal way American Army troops were successfully ordered to turn on fellow veterans of World War I, by MacArthur Eisenhower and Patton. Do we have any military leaders who even approach these guys? If THEY did this can the current crop of military heroes resist an Obama order to turn their guns on fellow Americans?

Small but important scene in “Unintended Consequences” by John Ross. The government is not your friend, and it is capable of attacking peaceable citizens.

I'd be a little circumspect in drawing conclusions from the Bonus Army. There were good reasons why the encampment had to be broken up, and note that the troops used teargas, not guns. Nobody got shot.

If the OWSers had been given similar treatment last year, not many would have seen it as the beginning of the end.

Don’t worry we can take them to court to address their decision.

seriously we can, well ok if they decide to allow us to sue them and if we’re dead then we lose standing.

Plenty more recent examples, but here's one from 1957. 101st Airborne deploys to Little Rock, Arkansas to enforce school desegregation. Yes. They would turn their guns on us if so ordered. No doubt about it.

I witnessed the arrests of over 13,000 Americans and the 82nd Airborne and U.S. Marines in full force by the many thousands.

“”While protesters listened to music, planned their actions or slept, the authorities quickly moved 10,000 Federal troops to various locations in the D.C. area, including 4,000 paratroopers from the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division. At one point, so many soldiers and marines were being moved into the area from bases along the East Coast that troop transports were landing at the rate of one every three minutes at Andrews Air Force Base in suburban Maryland, about 15 miles from the White House.””

50 years ago last week,I sat in the back of a deuce-and-a-half truck in full battle gear waiting to move out from Ft. Myer to control a couple hundred thousand angry Americans who marched on D.C. to hear MLK’s famous speech. We had been training for riot control and were armed with M1 rifles and chrome bayonets. NCOs were issued ammo and tear gas gear. As we sat there nervously wondering how 600 of us were going to control such a large crowd, our battalion CO walked from one truck to the next telling us to remember our training and follow orders, then “men you may have to kill some Americans today”.

Thankfully it all turned out peacefully and we went back to our usual duties burying dead soldiers in Arlington National Cemetery.

Soldiers follow orders, period. Don’t count on them to turn on their officers. Unless the flag officers overthrow the government and order the coup, otherwise, if you revolt, you are the enemy.

Yep

When the government comes to sodomize your kids and take everything you have ever worked for away, you can bet that the Army is not going to help you.

What is always left out of the media accounts of the Bonus March is that it succeeded in its purpose.

The $600.00 bonus was to be paid out in 1945 per original statute when WW vets would be approaching retirement age. FDR & the Democratic Congress moved the payout year back a decade & the vets got their bonus in 1935.

My grandfather took his & made down payment on a house, went to trade school & got a decent job, then by 1940 he had saved enough to burn the mortgage.
