TV Continues Assault on Parents

It’s hard being a parent in today’s world. Everywhere you look, your child is being constantly being exposed to influences that most likely run counter to your beliefs. Kids today are hyper-exposed to sexuality, vulgarity, violence, and a culture that little values discipline, manners, and respect. A parent’s authority is undermined on many fronts, with the classroom being an example, but one of the most effective tools against the authority of parents is television.

The progressive left has been targeting the youth of America for decades as they have long recognized that children are the most impressionable and that if they can indoctrinate the youth to their way of thinking, they will win the future. Thus the use of television shows aimed at tweens, especially on channels that parents would think wouldn’t put out objectionable material, such as the Disney Channel or Nickelodeon. However, it is on shows found on these channels that the notion of parents as knowledgeable, more experienced, and a rock on which their children can depend is being warped beyond recognition. Shows such as iCarly, Shake It Up, Jesse and others portray parents as lovable buffoons at best. Every adult is an object of ridicule and only serve as punch lines to jokes. In contrast, the children on these shows are shown to be confident, capable, and not needing the advice or support of their parents. In fact, parents usually serve as an obstacle to their goals.

It goes back further than that. King Lear comes to mind.

Probably this is a reason why Duck Dynasty is such a huge hit.

Nothing new. TV began circling the drain back in the late 1960s. Each TV generation is shown to be idiots in the minds of the children born to them.

Every adult is an object of ridicule and only serve as punch lines to jokes.

The leftard writers inadvertantly portray (project) themselves in these shows. That's all they "know", having shut out a functional - i.e. reality-based - worldview.

A fundamental of the psychology of that mindset is the belief that indocrination and forced acceptance and compliance are the methods by which viewpoints must be shaped. The concepts of self-evident truth and uncoerced choice are alien to them. Validation is a function of their power to control others. Explains why they need schools, the media and popular culture to create a world of lies in order to overwhelm, disable, and destroy critical thinking skills.

Everywhere is to them a battleground, because the way of peace (truth) they do not know.

Manipulative, lying POSs... just like their anointed king in the White Hut.

The progressive movement, which began in the late nineteenth century, took over American schools in the 1920's and 1930's, and still remains influential in all levels today. In this type of education, the child must learn by doing, which subsumes a wide range of activities. There is no lecturing by teachers or parents.

Education is no longer the process of transmitting acquired knowledge to the child in order to prepare him for life. This approach leads to a new view of the role of parents. It was no longer their responsibility to build their child's character or to discipline him. They must cease to regard themselves as overseers or even protectors of their offspring.

When Papaw Phil took his grandson and the grandson's date out fishing and told them how to act when dating and then prayed with them and the whole family fro them to remain pure, I cried. How I wish every family in America had a patriarch like that.

They started with pro-women advertisements then transcending into anti-white-male ads. I make a habit to note which companies do that, send an email to all their execs, then buy nothing from them.

TV, especially MTV, is carrying out one of the wishes of marxism: destroy the family and replace it with the state.

And the purpose of the teachers unions "is no longer the process of transmitting acquired knowledge to the child in order to prepare him for life." The purpose of the teachers unions is to guarantee themselves a high paying, benefits laden job for life.
