Over the last four years the negative attitude of Americans toward the US Supreme Court indicates it is less respected and trusted each year.

I hear ya. LOL.
Even so ... A U.S. Supreme Court justice putting himself in harm's way like that?
I guess his stance wasn't wide enough to measure up to some US Senators to hang out BWI, Reagan, or Dulles, protected by the TSA and other gun-toting agencies.

Doesn’t that make you a scumsucking blogpimp?
The only case that I remember that I think is odious to our republic was Kelo. I am undecided on the Health care ruling, a majority of justices agreed that it was not constitutional w.r.t. the Commerce Clause; the court was likely in a bad position on the case. Had Obamadoesn’tcare been struck down the left would scream the same thing we are. Kennedy’s opinion in the DOMA case was odious, but the outcome of the decision was a win for federalism.
Roe? Raich? Elliot? Casey?
Yes. His "call it a tax" dodge wiped out my little fantasy that America stood for the sovereignty of the individual. In the new America we are subjects, not citizens.
I should have stated, recent decisions Roe was 40 years ago. That said it is odious. Raich I both have forgotten about and not read, so it is possible there is a subtlety in the case I am not aware of. Which Elliot decision are you referring to? Casey I see as a clarification of Roe, not really a separate case.
Reading the wikipedia summary of Casey, it is worth noting that the opinion was a plurality so its precedential value is limited IMO, unless I am misinterpreting the wiki entry.
Sorry, it’s US v. Bean. For some reason I always think it’s Elliot.
I was listening to a program on the radio recently when a guest said exactly that.
