Our Dear Leaders King Obama the Humble et al seem to be visualizing whirled peas rather than looking for solutions.

Because the media and the government wants us to BELIEVE what they tell us and to IGNORE our own observations.
To: DanMiller
Because of a poor translation of Submission to Peace.
Linguists with political agendas.
Just like Please does NOT mean Por Favor. Peace in Islam is NOT Peace in English.

“Why is Islam called the “religion of peace?”
Because it is enemy propaganda. A brief study of history reveals they are nothing of the sort.

"religion of peace"
It's called that because if you don't call it that, they'll kill you.
Reminds me of a line on an old sitcom: "If there's no problem, why is everybody saying 'no problem'?

I was talking to someone more liberal about Ft. Hood. She is not convinced that Islam is inspiring terrorism. Regarding Ft. Hood specifically, I told her that the shooter shouted “Allah Ahkbar” (sp?) but she didn’t think that was evidence that he shot up the place due to radical Islamic thinking.
Her conclusion is that just because so many terrorists are Muslim, that it doesn’t mean that all Muslims are terrorists. True, that not all Muslims are terrorists. But she refuses to consider that anyone is inspired by Islam.
On the other hand, this same person blames a form of radical Christianity for killings of abortion doctors.
On the one hand, she is ok with indicting Christianity for attacks against abortion providers, but not ok with indicting Islam with terror done in the name of Islam, freely admitted to by those who carry out such acts. Go figure.

I gotta say that he was the FIRST person I EVER remember saying that. I’m not saying that nobody else did before him, but he is the first I remember.

"Go figure."
The woman you describe is actually very typical among liberals. Their sense of being tolerant towards minorities makes it impossible for them to see the plain facts about Islamic terrorism, yet their disdain for Christianity makes them equate one or two abortionist-murderers with the entirety of Christianity.
I have a politically-incorrect saying: "Everybody needs a n*gger," someone to feel superior to, and that includes liberals. Their n*ggers are Christians and conservatives and Republicans. Earlier today someone posted a piece from Daily Kos in which the author claimed that conservatives were not human, and he seemed to mean it literally. Remember how the libs said Palin wasn't a woman and Clarence Thomas wasn't black? A basic denial of their humanity.

Same reason we have an “Affordable Health Care Act”.

Why is Islam called the "religion of peace?"How deep is the ocean? How high is the sky? Who is John Galt?
To: jocon307
"I blame George W. Bush."
Notice how much good it did him? Muslims STILL reviled him, just as libs reviled him despite his civility and (public, at least) respect for those who disagreed with his policies.
