Why is Islam called the "religion of peace?"

Sarcasm?

I was talking to someone more liberal about Ft. Hood. She is not convinced that Islam is inspiring terrorism. Regarding Ft. Hood specifically, I told her that the shooter shouted “Allah Ahkbar” (sp?) but she didn’t think that was evidence that he shot up the place due to radical Islamic thinking.

Her conclusion is that just because so many terrorists are Muslim, that it doesn’t mean that all Muslims are terrorists. True, that not all Muslims are terrorists. But she refuses to consider that anyone is inspired by Islam.

On the other hand, this same person blames a form of radical Christianity for killings of abortion doctors.

On the one hand, she is ok with indicting Christianity for attacks against abortion providers, but not ok with indicting Islam with terror done in the name of Islam, freely admitted to by those who carry out such acts. Go figure.
