In the wake of the tragic murders of two prosecutors, and one's spouse, in Kaufman County, Texas, county courthouses across Texas are promising beefed up security. While these plans will certainly include more armed guards, the District Attorney in Dallas County is advising its prosecutors to take their own steps for personal protection. We encourage our prosecutors to have a security handgun license, as long as they do it within the letter of the law, a DA spokeswoman told local CBS News.
Mike McLelland, the murdered DA of Kaufman County himself carried a firearm with him when he was outside his home or office. Currently, only police officers are allowed to carry firearms inside courthouses. McLelland told Breitbart News, in an interview conducted a few weeks ago, that he was working with TX state Rep. Lance Gooden on legislation to give prosecutors the same privileges as other law enforcement officers.
We need to be just like other law enforcement officers," McLelland said. "We need to be allowed to open carry our sidearms."
One's support of gun control is directly related to one's proximity to a personal threat....

I wonder what they are thinking now.
No! Just make Dallas a gun-free zone & that will keep them safe. /sarc
****** “But not us peons, eh?” ******
Nope ... that would irritate the “Won” (and the UN)
TT
I’m surprised they don’t as SOP. But in an execution-style ambush, it’s problematic whether it’ll even matter.
Only for the Govt Elite.
Peons need not worry about their safety. (Who cares about peons?)
I expect there is more to this than meets the eye.
When the prosecutor and his wife were killed, the initial reports were that there “were shell casings everywhere.”
I suspect that the prosecutor, and maybe even his wife, did not go down without a fight, and laid down their own fire, but the invaders had fully automatic weapons.
But only carry seven rounds because that’s all your life is worth.
one guy gets shot and now all attorneys should carry guns.
when scores of regular peons die from crime, they say we all need to be disarmed.
Fully automatic weapons (and soon, semi-automatic weapons) are illegal, therefore that is impossible.
Full auto are not illegal. With a $200 federsal stamp you can own and carry concealed as full auto weapon. Same with sound suppressors on weapons. BTW, a full select fire Thompson will set you back around 15 to 20 grand, but can be owned legally.
And further more, shirley the perps had their stamps up to date and with them when carrying the full auto weapons don’tchaknow. Failure to do so could be hugh and series.
someone needs to forward this to nra, goa, jpfo, saf, and make sure to pointout the total hypocrisy here. this quote could be the real blessing we’ve’been loking for. this guy just exposed the total hypocrisy behind him and everyone like him working to disarm regular joes and janes.
Supercitizens are more equal than us lowly Merkun peasants...
I heard on the news the DA was shot over 20 times..
So, even if he had a handgun at the ready, he was short on rounds..
Also, I bet the perp was wearing body armor when he carried ou the attack.
Time for Texas to pass open carry for everyone.

Yes, they are legal, but the number is capped and slowly decreasing, thanks to the unconstitutional law pushed through in highly questionable circumstances by Charlie Rangel as part of the gun owners protection act in 1986.
The gun muffler provision never made any sense, except as a way to make guns more obvious when being used. Consider how much “noise” is being used as a way to shut down gun ranges.
This was always just a part of the insane Roosevelt power grab. Roosevelt was our version of Mussolini. The depression ended when his heart stopped beating.
The current recession will likely end when President Obama is out of office.
