Local Man Uses AR-15 To Repel Armed Robbers

Rochester, N.Y. — Early Tuesday morning, Christopher Boise heard a noise coming from the basement. As he walked toward the source of that noise, the RIT student noticed two men standing in the downstairs portion of his apartment.

"They were waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs," said Boise. One of them had a handgun trained on Boise.

Within moments, Boise screamed. His cries were heard by his roommate, Raymond Zheng. "It wasn't like a, 'I stepped by stepped on a piece of glass' kind of scream," explained Zheng. "So, I instinctively went to my gun bag." Zheng owns an AR-15 which is a military style rifle.

Zheng estimated that just five seconds passed until the door started to open. It was one of the intruders. "By the time I had it out and ready, one of the men came at my door, slowly opened it, saw that there was a barrel on the other side and from there backed out," said Zheng.

The two men fled the apartment. Nothing was taken and no shots were fired.

The rifle was not loaded at the time of the home invasion, according to Zheng.

"They decided this place was a good place to rob, just a wrong decision on their part," said Zheng. "I'm happy he saved my life. I was very thankful he had his (gun)."

Zheng, who is from New York City, said he uses the rifle for sport shooting at local gun ranges. "The weapon was legal and he protected his property, said Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard. "We're thankful that no one was injured," he said.

Sheppard said there were BBs near the broken glass window. Police are still looking for suspects. If you have any information, contact CrimeStoppers at 585-423-9300.

Imagine if Raymond Zheng and his house mate, Christopher Boise, weren't armed with that scary looking "assault" rifle. They could have ended up as dead meat. Gov. Cuomo could give a crap in his 2016 presidential quest.

Second thread I’ve seen where just the presence of a scary black rifle causes the intruders to flee.

I’m thinking these folks could save a ton of money if they just bought a realistic air-soft gun if all they want to do is scare the bad guys away.

Soon that will be the only legal thing to do in NY. Until toy guns are banned.

It won't go very well if the thug calls your bluff though.

Good for him, glad it worked out, but an unloaded gun is either a paperweight or a club.

No shots were fired !
therefore, this becomes a ‘non-incident’
and wasn’t given any publicity or news coverage.

This isn’t an isolated incident of crime prevention with a display of a firearm.
Just think :when you are faced with deadly physical force ,..
..the police are only minutes away !!

“The average number of people shot in a mass shooting event
when the shooter is stopped by law enforcement: 14.
The average number of people shot in a mass shooting event when the shooter is stopped by civilians: 2.5.
The reason is simple.
The armed civilians are there when it started. “ ~ by Larry Correia

More evidence for Cuomo's plan for the zero bullet magazine limit.

Thanks for your replies, my fellow Freepers!

This thwarted robbery happened on Congress Ave in Rochester, NY, in a neighborhood that I spent time growing up in as a kid and also lived in with my wife and kids from 1983-1995. It’s referred to locally as the 19th Ward. We left what was once a nice, middle class city neighborhood because the gangbangers took it over and we became sitting ducks there. We lost our asses on the house because the property values dropped due to the neighborhood turning into a crime infested ghetto.

Despite having some of the toughest gun control laws in the Nation, the tyrant, Cuomo and his quislings are attempting to further disarm law abiding citizens in New York State by outlawing so-called “assault weapons”, just like Raymond Zheng used to repel the thugs who were attempting to rob Zheng and his housemate. This incident could have led to the murder of those two RIT students, but it didn’t because they were able to stand up to those thugs with the firepower of an AR15.

Governor Cuomo, can you further explain why you want to violate the Constitutional rights of law abiding citizens by stripping us of our defensive arms?

No wonder the leftist extremists hate these guns: two suporters of the Democratic [sic] party were unfairly deprived of social justice and the fruits of their night's labor by white militia racists with mean nasty terrible awful horrible scary assault weapons.

bran·dish·ing, bran·dish·es. 1. To wave or flourish (a weapon, for example) menacingly. 2. To display ostentatiously.

Works like a charm....many many times.....not near one tenth of such peaceful scattering of thug scum is ever reported. The bigger and badder the weapon the more likely a peaceful outcome. I guess the gun grabbers never heard of this, eh?

Who wrote this crap? Most of it doesn's make any sense.......

"I'm happy he saved my life. I was very thankful he had his (gun)."

Who? Boise? According to the story, all he did was scream........

Since there were no shots fired and nobody killed, the statisticians with the VPC won’t count this as a defensive use of a gun.
