AZ:Protest Against Superstitious "buy back" saves 30 Valuable firearms
Gun Watch ^ | 9 January, 2013 | Dean Weingarten

"BuyBack" is an irrational propaganda term. The government never owned these firearms to begin with. These events are nothing but political theater designed to delegitimize armed citizens. Some sane citizens are pushing back against this superstitious destruction of valuable assets as a sacrafice to the gods of disarmament.

From azstarnet

About 200 guns were turned over in exchange for grocery store gift cards at this morning’s gun buyback event.

The effort, led by Councilman Steve Kozachik, began at 9 a.m. this morning at the Tucson Police Department’s Patrick K. Hardesty Substation, 1100 S. Alvernon Way.

Two hundred Safeway gift cards worth $50 each were given away at the event which began winding down about 11:40 a.m.

Former state senator Frank Antenori led a counter effort, offering residents cash for their weapons.

Antenori estimated about 30 guns were purchased by his supporters at the event.

Some courageous and sane people are shining the light on these silly bits of political theater. All these turn ins accomplish is to defraud ignorant widows of valuable property and waste police resources.

Never thought of that before but he’s right. Buy “BACK” is a subtile propoganda phrase.

Seattle just announced a gun “buy back” program.

I have a spare handgun at home. I suppose if they were to offer me market value for it I’d consider turning it over, but since they’re offering a whopping $50 I guess I’ll be keeping it.

Do these buffoons understand that the weapons they get will be broken, useless lumps of metal that wouldn’t have harmed anyone anyway? The bad guys certainly aren’t going to have a stroke of conscience and sell their arms, and nobody with a brain is going to part with a decent firearm for a measly $50.

There was a recent article about a buy-back program somewhere where an old widow turned in an old WW-I or II vintage firearm that was a classic. Fortunately for her, and a credit to the LEO’s who were conducting the program, after its inspection, they ultimately gave it back to her because of its value........

Getting the public to accept the term “buyback” is their main goal.It sounds fair to them and is great propaganda. So when it’s time to confiscate firearms, the term “buyback” will mean FORCED buyback....

So what were the 30 “valuable” firearms that were saved? The site doesn’t mention it....

I hadn’t heard that. I guess I’ll go grab a card table and set up shop ;-)

I stand corrected... they now say it’s a $100 Amazon gift card for every handgun, shotgun and rifle! $200 for an assault rifle!

Well, still not enough for me to part with my Beretta. I’d need to get retail plus 10%, so I could go buy a new gun.

One of the commenters on the article said he’d set up near the site and offer $10 more than the city was offering... was that you?!

I wonder if the Nazis paid the Jews travel expenses to the concentration camps.

A zip-gun would cost less to make, wonder if anyone has realized that yet? Turn in 10-$500 in groceries.

At $100, 10 would be $1000. They netted 200, thats $20,000, not a bad piece of change.

That`d be an interesting way to fight back against this horse crap, put`em out`ta business quick! About 10 people show up with 10, $20 pieces of junk and walk away with $1000. The money that saves in inflation wracked food costs,(Present CPI figures, my ass!) can be turned into a shinny new toy for the collection.

Can't find the source now, but years ago I read that some bribed the Nazi officials to be put at the head of the list for "relocation".

All it takes is a little gumption and it can be done.

In states that do not have draconian bans on private sales, these turn ins are going to be history.

Get in on the action while you still can.

It is a great story to tell the grandkids about, or better yet, take them to the turnin protest so they have their own story about fighting the Statists back in the day!

While you`re at it, spread the word on all the conservative forums. We need to make this a national effort. Use Alinsky-ish tactics, and make a few bucks doing it!

It was a STG 44, the world’s first practical assault rifle, a German invention mostly used by SS troops toward the end of WWII. Its design became the basis for just about all such rifles made since, especially the AK 47.
