You dont have to answer to me. God knows that Adam Lanza killed the children, your co-workers and yourself. But he also knows that you chose to follow mans laws over His laws, for which twenty beautiful children now stand at The Gates waiting their turn to get in, and He may want an explanation for that. Powerfull stuff.......

No your not a dead Sandy Hook School teacher and its pretty sick and cowardly to pretend to be one. When you have given your life blocking a maniac gunman, unarmed to protect your children you have that sad privliage. Your just like those hacks with phoney medals pretending to be a Navy Seal. You do not have the right to speak for them regardless if you mean well. Trolling again, Blackirish? Why don't you try actually READING the article before you shoot your keyboard off about it?

I'm sorry, but I gotta go with Blackirish on this one.
The article's substantive points are well made, but the author's device of speaking from the standpoint of one of the murdered teachers isn't going to win many converts.

Even though I agree with the ideological points the author makes, I share Mr. Lucky and Blackirish’s sentiment. I could easily see a Sandy Hook survivor taking offense.

Thought-provoking and substantive. I like it. Unfortunately it is also framed in a way that some will perceive as offensive and is wayy over the head of the average American.

And, as already demonstrated on this thread, hits too close to the truth for some to feel comfortable with.
Wake up calls are never pleasant.

Do you think Soledad O'Brien worries about who she's offending with her lies, slander and propaganda?
"Political correctness" is about robbing you of your Right to Free Speech. I believe the author of the above piece addresses that in one of his paragraphs.

As we heard yesterday on Rush Limbaugh, Teddy "The Drunk Murdering Swimmer" Kennedy and Joe "Brain Damage" Biden didn't have a problem with the vile, offensive slandering of Robert Bork. I guess we conservatives should just lay down and put the Welcome sign on our backs for Soledad and Piers to wipe their blood-dancing shoes on...

I thought it had a powerful ring of truth to it. The author didn’t claim to speak for any individual by name, so I for one grant him literary rhetorical license to make the excellent points he did.
Perhaps it shouldn’t have made reference to that specific tragedy, but that is as far as I can criticize it.

You’re absurd. I don’t care about political correctness. I care about the comfort of a small number of people who went through something horrible.

The article's substantive points are well made, but the author's device of speaking from the standpoint of one of the murdered teachers isn't going to win many converts. As I posted on another forum, when I first saw the title of this piece, I was uncomfortable. When I read it, I saw that the author treated the subject with utmost respect, unlike the Soledads and Piers Morgans of the MSM world.
The posts bringing up the spectre of my initial instinct remined me of a thing:
Do you remember how quickly the Left-wing media (but I repeat myself...) shut down the images from 9-11 "so we wouldn't disrespect the dead"? They did this to rob the Republicans of a potent political issue.
Now, we have a 9-11 for the Left, and do you think they'll shut down the coverage out of respect for the dead? No way. They're going to milk every last bloody drop of political advantage out of those bullet-riddled little corpses.
Fortunately, I don't have cable, so you'll have to tell me if it's still wall-to-wall, 30 hours a day/8 days a week/367 days a year Blood-Dancing With the Network Media Stars coverage.

Many have forgotten or don't want to be reminded.

perhaps he should go with, “What might a Dead Sandy Hook Teacher be Thinking At the Pearly Gates?”
To: Flightdeck
“I could easily see a Sandy Hook survivor taking offense.”
Yea. Why would we want to offend anyone at this time. I mean, there is only 20 kids dead and all.
I’m offended on a regular basis and somehow I get over it. Sometimes I even learn something.
