The experts are wringing their hands trying to figure out why Romney didnt win, but now we know: the 14 million missing voters from Romneys column are Evangelicals.
Evangelical Christians may not be evil people, but they helped an evil president become an evil dictator on Tuesday. The exact numbers arent in but clearly the vast majority of Evangelicals stayed home on Election Day.
They werent dealing with a storm or a personal family emergency. They stayed home because they made a conscious decision to allow our Marxist enemy to continue ruining our lives rather than have Mormon Mitt Romney as our president.
They draw their grounds for such a twisted thought from their interpretation of the Bible which they take literally except of course for the part about handling poisonous snakes thats where a more modern interpretation of Scripture takes hold.
The Evangelicals hatred of Romney burns so brightly it blinded them. Self- flagellation and a willingness to aid and abet a clear enemy became preferable to them consequences be damned.
Evangelicals profess to be pro-life against Gay marriage for religious freedom a strong protective bond with Israel and for a strong and effective military yet on Tuesday they stayed away by the millions and imperiled all they say they believe in.
They stood on principle, so they will say, so they hate the Republican Party for nominating Romney as well. They did not even consider the danger they put America in Romney and the RNC hurt their feelings and they wanted the revenge Barack Obama urged.
Skipping the top line for the sake of saving America never occurred to our Evangelical neighbors. If Evangelicals had just done this we would have a Republican Senate and a stronger hold on the House...

Look, you can be mad at them all you want, but if you are a true patriot to the idea of Freedom of Religion...then you must respect the fact that many evangelical religious type folks adhere to...when the choice is between to evils...pick neither and move on.
Same here. I'm sure I fall into the "evangelical Christan" category, and I sure as hell voted against Obama. Nothing was going to stop that from happening. These clowns have doomed this nation for their own personal pride.
We don’t. I have no doubt that some did stay home. You know like some of those who post here?
Something funny about the vote totals.
“Actually, when they get done counting Romney will likely have roughly the same number of votes McCain did in 2008.”
Wanna bet?
I am very bitter with these people. They truly beleve the worse it gets the better because they think this heralds in Jesus’ return. They are going to be waiting a long frikking time and will be very lucky if they come out of this without having to take their religion underground.
Same here.
The vote count doesn’t tell us anything, unless it is verified by the actual signatures on the voting lists. We really have no way of knowing whether the votes tallied even vaguely represents the number of people who actually signed the list. We can’t know that until we count the number of people who actually signed the lists - looking for potentially faked signatures as well.
If the number of signatures matches the number of votes we still don’t know if the votes were changed, which can be easily done through the tabulation software. The only way we know whether it was R’s or D’s who signed the lists is through the election observers, and R observers were kicked out in critical states. That wasn’t an accidental thing, and in at least one case it was done in defiance of an order from a judge. You don’t commit the crime of contempt of court unless you’ve got a really important reason to do so...
And then even if we know how many R’s signed the voter list, the only measure of what faction within the R party showed up is the exit polling, which was only reported to the public by the media after they had a closed-door pow-wow. A democratic spokeswoman told people to ignore the first exit polling; well, the only people who would have seen that were the media, so the admonition to “stay calm” was to the media - who were being told not to panic because the “real scoop” (wink) would be in the votes, which would all be sunshine and roses. Rush reported that somebody had told him the exit pollers were instructed (by whom?) not to interview any elderly whites. And who did the pollers say showed up in droves? Abortion-driven women, Hispanics, and Blacks - most of whom said the top issue was Hurricane Sandy. What Rush read (and refuted) from the exit polling statements read like a missive from Axelrod. And that’s all we have.
The fact that Valerie Jarrett was confidently telling her people that they were going to win and then it would be payback time, even when the polls were saying otherwise, suggests foreknowledge of the final vote tally. Much like Manuel Zelaya foreknew the results (which were found in his briefcase) for an election that never happened. Methinks Jarrett or her surrogates may had a little visit with Nate Silver and gave him a peek at the numbers too.
So the truth of the matter is that we will never have certainty. We don’t know who programs the tabulation software and have no log of activity done to the program - much less a tamper-proof log of activity. Our observers were thrown out. And the exit polling is a work of the same media that let Obama get away with telling the world he called Benghazi a terrorist attack on Sept 12th, when they asked him on Sept 12th why he didn’t call it a terrorist attack and he clearly said we couldn’t know yet. So we’re being told to trust an unaccountable software system set up somebody we don’t know, only democrat observers, the elections officials who illegally threw out republican observers, and an already-proven lying, treasonous media.
Like I said, we will never have certainty, and that’s exactly the kind of unaccountable system that absolutely corrupts. Until the elections officials who violated the public trust are sitting soundly in jail for a good long time, until we have software which automatically tracks and logs transactions in a non-manipulable way and that log is made public, and until media people are sitting in jail or hanged for treason we will have no reason to trust any election results.
I don’t like the UN for a lot of reasons. But if our own system to secure the integrity of elections is even worse than the UN (which immediately questioned how any election results could be trusted when no voters are required to provide identification!), then that’s a sad, sad statement of US apathy and corruption. Americans have already given up on America.
That’s the impression that I have also.
I don't honestly know what the thought process is of the GOP-e actively recruiting Democrat-lite candidates but instead of blaming the base for not sucking it up maybe we should be blaming the idiots that gave us Willard in the first place. "We" nominate A pro-abortion, suddenly pro-life, Massachusetts liberal, suddenly right wing conservative, anti 2nd amendment, suddenly pro 2nd amendment, father of Romney care, Reagan hating, Morman (which a lot of evangelicals consider to be a cult and I happen to agree with them) and act surprised when some of the base didn't feel like the party had their best interests in mind? I suspect most understand this but I'll point out, yet again, that TRYING TO APPEAL TO "MODERATES" WHILE ALIENATING YOUR BASE IS A DUMB IDEA. Not to mention a losing strategy which even a slow learner should have understood after Dole, Bush (him winning hurt Republicans more that losing would have)and McCain. Instead we have the newest edition to the RINO loser list Romney.
I voted for Willard even though I felt dirty doing it but I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would single out a core group of supporters and blame them when the GOP-e did all but moon them and call them names. Actually they do call them names come to think of it.
There is only one group of people to blame and that is the liberals. More specifically it's the liberal GOP-e that got us into this mess. We need to drive them from the party burn everything they have infected with their liberal mind set and start again with core conservative ideas. If you don't think that core conservative ideas (embodied by candidates with a record of actually supporting these principles) can win elections then go become a Democrat.
I am an evangelical Christian and I voted for Romney the same way I would have voted for Darius over Nebuchadnezzer had I lived in ancient Babylon (had there been a vote). When the choice is between two non-Christians you vote for the one who will hopefully steer the country in a better direction.
I don’t believe this is true, rather a further effort to divide us. Certainly, there are some Christians who behaved this way; there are idiots of every persuasion. For the most part Christians are good people who strive to avoid evil. They have consciences that allow them to recognize evil, even when well disguised and know in their hearts that a government that condones the murder of unborn babies is in a sorry position to dictate morals and make laws for civil society. I would guess that Christians turned out in record numbers to unseat the communist; I would also guess that we will never be told that fact.
Where Did the Voters Go? Nowhere
Whatcha got?
All the polls I saw from that night, it was a mixture of the Libertarian, Conservative, other parties etc.....that would have easily made up the vote to win. I am an evangelical and I can assure you that here in Texas, ALL evangelicals voted for Romney. Maybe some in other states did not feel it was right for them to do so, but that is between them and God. We do still have freedom of religion and if it violated their conscious to do so....then I for one will not condemn them. Trust me.....there are about 20 million more either non-christian or non-affiliated or Agnostic or whatever that did not bother to exercise their civic duty either.
This is an AMERICAN problem. People do not care to be involved in our election. That is why, every time you see one of those videos where they ask questions on the street, and the people are clueless about what is going on in our country or abroad. Maybe we ought to be angry with the Republican Party who promised us that their guy could get the job done? Don’t you remember, we did not want Romney.....PERIOD.....and then they screwed over ALL of our real Conservative candidates, and told us.....you will come around, because you have no choice. Mitt said they will warm up to me! What arrogance! Well, some people did not come around, and now we need to start seriously thinking about a VIABLE third party. If we don’t, things will never change, and we will be told whom we will choose and like it! When will we wake up and realize that this two party system is no longer working? How many more elections are we going to sit by and watch good men and women be passed over because it is what the party wants? Is this our country? Do we choose whom we want? Have we chosen since Reagan? I think not. It is our duty as Americans to vote our conscience. Instead of condemning people for how they vote, we could be offering them an alternative. A true people’s candidate. We need a “We the People Party”, so we have choice again. We can not continue to fight the Democrats, the media and our own Party leaders.....it is futile. We will lose every time. We need a strong Conservative Party who are unafraid to be who we are. A God loving, Country loving, bible believing fiscally conservative people who love life and our heritage, and are not afraid of the left! They are not ashamed of their belief’s and neither should we. If we are to ever get our country back, it will be with this boldness and the self as surety that the Founding Fathers possessed.
Let us stand up together against the real enemies of America....the media....the two party leaders and make a new path for ourselves and our children.
Doncha just admire the ‘self righteous’ (and a bit self centered) ultra-christians?
This was my experience as well, and a weird experience to boot. I'm tempted to elucidate, but it would doubtless cause a shouting match with some of my fellow evangelicals, and I really don't need one of those today.
Mr. niteowl77
Yes they are. I detest Obama voters. But I have more respect for them than these cowards who mistakenly call themselves "evangelical Christians".
They are no less Obama voters than those who went to the polls and voted for him. They just voted through inaction.
If you think these people are OK you should go read the parable of the talents. We have been given something a lot more valuable than a talent of gold and they did far worse than bury it in the ground: They abandoned it by the side of the road, leaving it for others to squander.
Where is your data? According to Allahpundit, Romney got considerably more evangelical support than McCain.
Moreover, I don’t care for the term evangelical because it is a term that has been stripped of all meaning. I am a conservative Southern Baptist, a Calvinist. I am considered an evangelical, but so is Jimmy Carter, another Baptist. Jimmy and I would agree on virtually nothing beyond the time of day. Romney (or Rick Perry/Newt/Santorum) was never going to get the votes of those evangelicals whose understanding of the Bible approximates Jimmy Carter.
gauntlet time.
As my byline claims we are now saddled with a devil. Better him than one who denies the faith in the name of the faith. It is now up to faith filled patriots who would save this nation to find the road that will end the tyranny of left wing ideology.
If evangelicals gave us Obama we must accept this gift in the spirit it was given, with an absolute refusal to compromise our principles. That willingness to compromise has destroyed the party of Lincoln. We must end the madness of bowing to the political class.
In order for the Republicans to “court” the groups you listed, the next Republican nominee must:
Latinos
Grant complete amnesty and pledge 100% open boarders
Blacks
Give out free iPads and malt liquor instead of Bamaphomes (and still lose the majority)
Asians
Free egg rolls?
Muslims
Insist that Sharia law will be the law of the land.
Sounds like a great platform to me./s/
In a nation of takers things like rugged individualism, self-reliance, freedom and capitalism just aren’t going to cut it when the Republican Party also wants to be the party of virtue and upstanding morals. If the Republican Party wants to remain relevant it can only do one of two things, IMO.
1) Rubber stamp anything and everything the Marxists want and let the nation collapse under its own weight and be there to say, “I told you so.”
2) Become a much more libertarian party — completely abandon all of the social issues. With all social issues off the table, there is no “war on women” regarding abortion and birth control. There is no “war on drugs” which might appeal to young voters (look at the trend when it comes to marijuana — first medicinal use battles dragged on for years, then acceptance, now it is becoming completely legal for personal use and this topic drives a huge voter block of young people). The Republicans will be the party of reason and logic when it comes to the economy and national defense (they already are but those msgs are lost in the media which focuses, laser-like, on abortion each and every election).
The Democrats have mastered the strategy of divide and conquer. Take away their ability to divide. The appeal of capitalism, liberty and a strong national defense may yet prevail. Leave it to churches to dissuade the population from the horrors of abortion and other repugnant social ills.
