I love coffee. I probably drink too much though.”

There is no such a thing as too much coffee.

Onethingaboutcoffeeisthatthecaffeinedoesn'taffectmeatallohlookthere'ssomelintonthecarpetletmegetmytweezers...

I learned about coffee the hard way, the Navy way. Elite coffee conoisseurs would rise early in the morning and hand-select each precious bean, polishing it to shiny perfection, grinding it by hand, ensuring that only the best French imported water was used, brought to a delicate rolling boil before cooling it with shaved ice...

Who am I kidding? It was a E3 messcook in a stained t-shirt who scooped it out of a 25-pound tin with a serving spoon he wiped on his dungarees, and if we were lucky didn't use sea water. By midwatch the sludge was...delicious...

I've had Vietnamese coffee and it's delicious! They apparently use ONLY a kind of Rubusto bean (NOT Arabica) which is usually not very tasty, but they've mastered the art (evidently from the French)growing and roasting it perfectly and, well, Vietnamese coffee is just GREAT.

I also think anything we can do to promote capitalism there...is a real service, to those poor people.

I’d have to agree with TonyInOhio....

What’s the point in drinking decaf coffee?

I mean, if I’m gonna drink coffee, I want the high octane stuff!

I agree. I was just trying to appear remorseful. Haha. I do love my coffee though.

Sounds interesting, perhaps even avoid the effects on my arthritis that regular four cups per day has. Thanks, gonna give that a try!

My father in law once made, what he called, “ fireplace or hobo coffee’

With the egg added (yoke and all? really?) that's exactly how "Turkish" coffee is made. Very fine grind, dumped in, just boiled...3 times.

The Turkish/Arab coffee pot design has a wide bottom, so as to catch the grounds in the bottom when you pour.

Funny, have not yet had my morning coffee.

Did not start drinking coffee until I was 22, late bloomer and then discovered it helped keep me awake on my 2nd shift job.

Natuaral pesticide? Here in Kona, farmers are having big trouble with a "coffee borer" beetle so the effect must vary a bit on the bug involved?

(just to be clear, Turkish coffee does NOT do the egg-thing...)

One of the best beers a local brewer makes (Kaona Brewing Company) is Pipeline Porter. Brewed with Kona coffee. You can indeed taas the coffee and is very rich and smooth. Often have it as a dessert drink.

I didn’t include it in the list because it was an opinion but some biblical scholars believe that the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden was actually a coffee tree. Keep in mind that the coffee berries are bright red when ripe.

BEST COFFEE EVER! If your spoon doesn’t stand up, then it ain’t done cooking! I had a 48oz Petro Gas Station hot/cold cup and I would drink at least three of those a day - ah, the good ol’ days!

Of course, now that I am older, I do like mine a little less strong and I drink MUCH less of it. I have about one a day M-F and two or three on Saturday and Sunday.
