White House Insists No Apology Required for “Polish Death Camp” Remarks
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 2 June 2012 | John Semmens

Posted on 06/04/2012 8:21:10 AM PDT by John Semmens

Press Secretary Jay Carney said “the President will not be apologizing. The fact of the matter is that the most infamous of the death camps—Auschwitz, for one—were located in Poland. These camps may have been run by the Nazis, but the Polish Government did nothing to stop them. It’s long past the time that they should have acknowledged their role in that war atrocity.”

So Hussein is basically saying that he ‘stands’ by his remarks. Unbelievable!

Arrogant Dictators NEVER apologize. It is a sign of weakness.

Almost got me again. I wouldn’t even call the stuff you write semi-satire because it’s 1000% possible considering this POTUS.

Dig that hole deeper Barry. A quick apology would have helped put it in the past.

You are correct, this statement from the White House makes it worse! It's one thing to mis-speak and another to mis-state history. Kind of make you look STUPID!

"These camps may have been run by the Nazis, but the Polish Government did nothing to stop them."

The Government of the Republic of Poland in Exile, was the government in exile of Poland formed in the aftermath of the Invasion of Poland of September 1939, and the subsequent occupation of Poland by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, which brought to an end the Second Polish Republic founded in 1918.

You know Barry, it's difficult to stop the Death Camps when your government was forced to leave the country. So one question, since your government is still in the USA, what's your excuse for the mess we are facing?

“Fake but accurate.” Hold them to their own standards. It’s more fun that way.

“the Polish government did nothing to stop them” This is an incredibly ignorant statement by an American official. What Polish government is he referring to that was in existence during the German occupation during World War II. There simply was no “Polish” government representing the Polish people after the Nazi and Soviet invasions. It is beyond the pale that an American official would be so ignorant of history.

There’s quite a few Polish-Americans in this country (how about Chicago, for example). I wonder how many of them voted for the Kenyan last time and will not this time because of this issue?

He does not apologize to friends, only to enemies.

Yea I know this is satire but it's so close to the truth it's scary.

It's a good thing I checked the source line on this. It's just SOOoooooo believable but then good satire must have a kernel of truth to be effective.

The sting of satire is truth.

but the Polish Government did nothing to stop them

The only Polish Government back then was the Polish Government on Exile operating from... UK

I wonder if such sentences are sign of pure stupidity or acts of historical revisionism, ignorance or lack of education?
