Colt is joining all the other innovative American manufacturing companies in the great stampede to the Right to Work South.
From RedState
Colt Firearms appears to be one of the many Connecticut companies looking for a less hostile home.
To clarify, Florida is a Right-to-Work state and Connecticut is not. Which may be why the UAW is so concerned about keeping jobs in the anti-business state:.
via The Miami Herald:
Colt Manufacturing Co. announced earlier this month it is bringing 63 jobs and a new regional headquarters and product manufacturing center to Kissimmee, Fla., next year.
Of course, Colts move may also have more to do with the hostile nature Connecticut has toward businesses, or the largest tax increase in the states history that was just imposed in June.
Its unbelievable. Connecticut unions are going from high paying, high tech manufacturing jobs to trying to unionize day care workers. Nobody said the unions were very bright
and Connecticut is complicit. When the same state outlaws the products of its own companies theres no reason to stick around anymore. The message is clear
Colt products are good enough for Mexican Drug Cartels (courtesy of our own ATF), but not good enough for Connecticut.
Manufacturing is dying in the Rust Belt. California and Illinois, are you paying attention? Of course not. Unless, you threaten to leave.

Great news. Get the hell out of the liberal Northeast. Go South, go South.
The South shall rise again!
Florida is too low. Move to west Texas, or at least hill country.
Time for Armalite to leave Illinois as well...
They should have moved to Texas - a natural environment for them.
:)
Think I may just buy me a colt firearm for Christmas in support.
CT, MA, VT, NH used to be filled with machinist, tool and die makers, assemblers. Now all they have is Casino’s and new forms of marriage. Dang shame....
Same things are happening here in the Peoples’ Republic of California and the gov. is going to ask theme to raise their taxes even more and sadly they will vote yes! Idiots!!
Armalite is in Illinois? I didn’t realize that. Are they allow to fully assemble their weapons in state? lol Or maybe they make lower receivers in another state.
How soon will the NLRB rule that Colt cannot move because it will be “busting the union”?

San Antonio sounds like a great place for a gun manufacturer.
By all means, but leave the North behind!
My handle is that I grew up in CT. I miss the beauty of the scenic state.
I am a Florida native and think it is a great move. I think if I were personally going to pick a state to manufacture firearms, it might be Georgia or Alabama but Florida would also be a top pick.

Let Freedom Ring,
It is about time.
I hate Florida’s scenery, which is flat. If CT had the political attitude of FL, it would be nice.
