Interesting how often Obama uses the word “Inspire” when talking about the middle eastern mess.

I used to like Beck but seems as though his shelf life has expired.

Everyday it’s another dire prediction.

I think beck is a drama queen.....BUT

One line is barry’s speech made my skin crawl. It was something about “people all over the world can now rise up against their government”.

It’s not the exact wording, but something like that. I thought, that’s the kind of line someone would use to tell Muslim bros that THISIS THE TIME FOR YOUR ATTACKS.

Of course,he has been importing them into our country under the radar by the hundreds of thousands in the past two yrs. It wouldn’t surprise me if something big were about to happen.

DID ANYONE SEE THE SAN DIEGO PORT WMD STORY THIS WK?

If we could get a few hundred thousand people to Washington to protest in the streets without getting shot by the police, and that would cause Barry to go away... I’M IN!

It’s not about to happen here unless things become a LOT worse. On the other hand, the present fiscal policies, divisive politics, and balkanization through uncontrolled immigration, lack of common language policies, and perverse education, may get us to that state in... oh... five to ten years.

Egypt’s protest and consequent coup had more to do with hyper-inflation than government administration.

With the US currently importing 40% of its food and the regulators ‘intentionally’ attempting to strangle local farming operations (Cloward–Piven) for the local good-cause of the day anything can happen...

...and when the beautiful people of privileged citizenship hit the streets. Well!

In case you missed it, we are living in a perfect storm of ‘affirmative action’ incompetence...anything can happen.

You’re not doing right for your family in denying this rioting over food shortage possibility imo.

I always though Beck was a little loose, but now I think he has lost it.

I was listening to Beck last night and he didn’t say “soon”.... he said something to the effect of “sooner or later”.

I tried to watch Beck again a couple of days ago. After being yelled at for the first 10 minutes or so, I gave up.

His information is probably good, but I tire of the theatrics rather quickly.

It is difficult to tell. Glenn might be right, then again he might not.

It’s worth remembering that while the majority of the protestors were Moslems, there were plenty of Hindus, Christians, Westernised students and peasants in the crowd and the military didn’t seem particularly keen to shut the protests down.

And even if it is the military rule that’s largely been responsible for Mubarak’s pro-West, pro-Israel stabilising effect, we really don’t know if they truly believed in peace with Israel, or if they only paid lip service to it because they got funding and support from us... support that they may then have used to oppress the general population of Egypt.

Right now there’s a possibility that the military will stick another general in Mubarak’s place and see how it goes, or they’ll transition to democracy.

There’s one specific reason why I think we can afford to take a step back: If there was any suspicion within the senior ranks of the Egyptian military that the Islamists stood a chance of creating a hardline Islamic Republic if democracy prevailed, they wouldn’t have sat on their hands. Remember what happened after Luxor? They pursued the Islamists with ruthless, deadly force.

Say what you like about Egypt but their secret police have too many people in too many places for them to call it totally wrong. If this was an Islamic uprising the military WOULD have stepped in.

My guess is that on this occasion the military and the protestors were on the same page but we don’t really know what that page is!

We were still thinking, “Yeah, but Mubarak’s not an Islamist and he’s been a good friend to the West” when these protests began. But, frankly, we haven’t been asking the right questions about Mubarak’s DOMESTIC policies yet.

If people were coming from the grass roots to call time on hunger, unemployment, excessive tax, and state tyranny by a one man regime with a foreign agenda, then it’s a Tea Party Movement in all but name.

It’s already been suggested by some foreign correspondants on the ground that the Egyptian uprising has given Hamas leaders, and the Iranian regime, more than a few sleepless nights. If it were an Islamic revolution I doubt they’d be as worried.

This begs the question: Mubarak was politically useful to us, but what if the general population of Egypt aren’t Islamists, and WOULD be good friends to the West?

Time for some tent cities in D.C.

The inspiring Egyptians didn’t need permits, left mountains of trash and generally acted like Woodstock time in Egypt.

This author is a typical idiot demagogue. I have followed Beck through all of this and he as not mentioned the USA at all. In fact the opposite, because the USA is hopelessly secular. Beck has only been talking about the ME block countries on the verge of turmoil.

This is the typical ignorant press who watch 5 minutes of Beck and then garner all sorts of theories related to what he is actually saying and then report them as fact.
