An informed public makes life tough for the communists. They need people to be ignorant and stupid in order for their form of “government” to work.

Yeah, that free and open society thing tends to get in the way of socialism.

If by pesky press Colon means alternative media, media controlled by the people, he is correct. We know what is going on because we have our own media, not because the establishment media informs us.

Powell is in the New World Order Club. He is just a worthless opportunist.

His allusion to the constitutional convention is apt, but the circumstances are entirely different today. In 1787, an inflammatory screed in the highly partisan press could have derailed the whole enterprise, sent some regionally suspicious colonies home in a huff, or out to the duelling ground, and that would have been it.

Today, we have a democratic duty to ride herd on the shady characters we get to pick from and end up sending to Washington. Civility is a very minor virtue compared to honesty.

Poor baby. What is he afraid people will find out about him?

Powell points out that the Constitutional Convention was held behind closed doors as a justification for the elites' need to operate out of sight of the great unwashed today.

Two entirely different circumstances.

Blacks only voted for Obama because he was black. And now, black Obama supporters don’t care that there are no jobs now because they are so averse to working.

Black Obama voters are the true racists.

I'll never forget that he didn't run for president because his wife wouldn't let him.
I guess she didn't want to share the pants.

I believe he wasn’t that well respected by the troops.

Although I don't like what the General is saying when he gets 'political', as a military General he had the utmost respect from his troops. I know, I was one of them. The military and politics are two different animals. In the military you have the implied respect your rank carries, and the earned respect from your subordinates. In politics you have neither.

We know what is going on because we have our own media, not because the establishment media informs us.

Yeah, it was so much easier for the politicos when most towns had a Dem newspaper and a Republican newspaper, and everybody knew which was which..then, like the parties, they pretty much merged.
