Less than 24 hours ago, I lay prostrate on an operating table while surgeons aided by a robot(da Vinci) made six deep cuts in my belly area and carved out my oversized cancerous prostate. The robot allegedly made such precise cuts that important nerves and muscles were protected from damage so my functionality would be maintained.
Makes one wonder if you can rent it for carving turkey Hmmmm.

Had a friend go through this a while back.
What struck me, was an article he sent me that said the US had something like 350 DaVinci robots one could receive this treatment from . Great Britain has 6.
sorry to drift there....
There IS no cure for Obamacitis
“so my functionality would be maintained”
Does that mean his `one-eyed German’ will still come to attention?
Forgive me, Lord, but the whole prostate thing is just a bad design. If humans were machines, a good engineer would figure out a means to do away with that whole organ.
Mine’s enlarged and I have the PSA tests done regularly, so that’s an encouraging article to read.
It used to be really difficult to remove the prostate without “crippling” the patient. Modern surgical techniques have made that issue considerably less common.
“Does that mean his `one-eyed German will still come to attention?”
You’re talkin’ about a Jewish guy. He might refer to it as his Moishe Dayan.
In Imus’ words...”looking for my wiener warranty”.
More seriously, why is it that men so frequently undergo surgery like that, unless it is absolutely necessary?
The comments I hear most is...I just want that cancer stuff out of my body.
I was diagnosed over a year ago, and will not undergo surgery, unless it is the last resort. But I am keeping a watchful eye.
If your father died of it, as mine did, and you have friends and other relatives who have gone thru the procedure who are now in old-old age like my 92 year old cousin Dave, and no one knows when it will spread, just that it probably will at some time, then you might reconsider.
Methinks Diedre controls the Iman and is more concerned with her sex life than her husband’s longevity.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
