I have been noticing that my mind has been getting twisted, easily confused and I go into panic mode at the slightest provocation. Noise, pressure from others, intense working conditions and such keep be unemployed.
Veterans Administration is slow to recognize the injury that started in Vietnam has slowly been creeping up on me. I don't know enough to know what is happening but I do know that it is - because I notice daily the decreased ability to function in even the most normal of situations. I have been through rehab but their process takes so long and there appears to be no end to it.
I on the other hand notice the almost daily decrease in my ability to function in almost every day functions. Today I almost went berserk while traveling in moderate to heavy traffic and I could have killed others and myself in the process. I can no longer just hope that someone will give me a remedy or solution. In the mean time I can note the past few days has been dramatic and I fear that in a month or so I will be a vegetable or near vegetable.
Is there anyone out there that knows where to go or who to see to provide me solutions before I can no longer be helped and will be that vegetable.
My typing has become eratic, my thought processes are confused, my reaction time has disappeared and been replaced with pure panic when I can't control myself, my actions and my thoughts.
Please If you know someone who I can contact that will be able to help. I am in Phoenix Ariz right now but can't stay here much longer because of economics.
wgi45@lavabit.com if you have any suggestions. I am desperate at this point. 2 months from now I don't think I will be capable of much more than basic body functions if nothing happens.

I can not help you, but I am with you in spirit. Sounds like damage to your right hand medial temporal lobe... Just a guess.
I don’t know how long the waiting list is for psychiatrists at the VA but if you’re having a crisis, you can always go to the nearest emergency room and they will see you.
Prayers for your sound mind and the peace that is beyond human comprehension.
Here is where you need to spend time each day:
You need to get yourself some help ASAP!
Go to an ER or call 911... right now!
Have you seen a general internist or other doctor? You should have a complete physical and array of blood tests. It could be something simple such as a vitamin or hormonal imbalance. You should have your blood sugar, thyroid, B-12 and other basic deficiences checked for starters. There could be a very simple explanation and solution. Go for that and good luck.

You need to see a doctor — tomorrow at the latest. What you’re describing (rapid deterioration over the course of days) sounds like a serious medical condition.
One didn't. With a resolve that can only be called heroic, he held on for two days in absolutely horrible conditions and was finally rescued.
Is there a lesson in this? You tell me.
Go to a doctor, as soon as you can.
Precisely. But try and get someone to do something about it or admit that nothing ? can be done. I would just like to know something.
What sort of rehab? It sounds like you need psychiatric help (depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar?). If you are that scared for your sanity perhaps you should check yourself into a mental hospital?
Prayers for you my friend.

They may be able to get you help quicker.
Been there done that.
That is my next step but I would like to try something other than just being warehoused.
1) This could be the result of physical and/or chemical issues. There are straightforward treatments for this. It’s not “you,” and you should not feel bad about pursuing a solution to your symptoms.
2) Are you a Christian? If so, do you go to church, and have other Christian friends? There’s something about having a fellow believer help you through difficult times.
3) If you are a Christian, could there be some unresolved sin, something you’ve thought or done that is disrupting your relationship with the Lord? Prolonged and sustained disruption of my relationship with the Lord, I’ve found, can mess me up in severe ways. Your symptoms could be physical/chemical, as I said. But they *may* be the result of something unresolved in your relationship with the Lord. And that’s good news — because Christ is eager to reconcile your relationship with the Lord; the price has already been paid for your treatment.
First let me say that your post is coherent and not erratic. That may sound inconsequential, but I want you to know that perhaps the issue you are having is mainly an overly acute perception of your reactions.
Has anyone commented to you about your actions or what you say or how you behave?
If you are driving recklessly and don't trust yourself to be safe, then, for yourself and for others, you should find some alternate transportation until you feel confident you can control yourself again.
Doe your employer offer what they call “Employee Assistance”? If so, CALL THE HOTLINE. Those conversations are confidential and they should be able to guide you to the right counselor.
For what it's worth, I'm usually pretty much in control. But since the last election and what Obammie the Commie has been doing and what I perceive as the end of the country as we've known it, I am liable to throw down at the drop of a hat. I, too, fear that someone may tweak me the wrong way and I may unload.
What I do is turn off the talk radio. Stop listening to news. Get off FR. And I listen to music that I love that calms me (Chopin, Bach, Beethoven, or even some old Emo Rock from the 80’s). Try it. It works wonders for me.
But if this is sourced in your service in Viet Nam, it may be that you have an unresolved issue that you need to discuss with someone who specializes in that area. Don't underestimate the need to resolve those issues. One of the growing fields of psychological counseling today is for women who had abortions back in the 70’s and 80’s and now feel the full impact of what they've done.
Do a google search for practitioners in your area. Be sure to add keywords for Post Traumatic Stress or anything else that you feel describes you.
I'd also recommend prayer, if you believe in God. He calms me down and helps me to keep things in perspective (like pointing out to me that it may feel good to smash a leftists, but that would be severely replaced by time in jail away from my family, a criminal record, a lawsuit and having to pay damages, etc.).
Good luck. Stay strong and relaxed. I'm sure you've been through worse and that you'll get through this.
Please go to the emergency room now! Your symptoms are not necessarily a mental issue and could be indicative of a physical illness. I do know that something as simple as a malfunctioning thyroid can cause similar symptoms.
Excellent advice.
