CNN Explains Inclusion of Sarah Palin in List of 2008’s Disgraced Politicians
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 10 Jan 2009 | John Semmens

In a further bid to smear the defeated GOP vice-presidential candidate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the Cable News Network (CNN) included her name in a list with seven others: Governor Rod Blagojevich (D-Illinois: charged with attempting to sell a senate seat), former senator John Edwards (D-N.C.: caught cheating on terminally ill wife), Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick (D-Detroit: in jail for obstruction of justice), Mayor Larry Langford (D-Birmingham: arrested for bribery, fraud and money laundering), Representative Tim Maloney (D-Fla: multiple extramarital affairs), Governor Elliot Spitzer (D-NY: consorting with prostitutes), Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska: convicted on bribery charges).

While there can be little debate that these seven individuals are a disgrace—abusing the trust of their office and/or lying to spouses and voters—and several seem likely to spend time in jail, why was Palin linked with such rogues?

CNN spokesperson Bea Smurch explained that “Ms. Palin endeavored to prevent the election of Barack Obama as president of the United States. While not illegal or dishonest, per se, the consequences if she had succeeded would’ve been catastrophic for the nation. In comparison, the missteps of the seven others were all relatively petty crimes. So, in my book she tops the list.”

In related news, TV journalist Travis Smiley of PBS chastised Senator Harry Reid (D-Nev) for his “I don’t work for Obama” comment. “I’ve got news for Mr. Reid,” Smiley intoned. “Obama was elected president of the United States. He is everybody’s boss for the next four years. All of us are obliged to follow his orders and work to ensure that he is perceived in the best light possible.”

By the time 2012 rolls around, she will have been completely destroyed by the media. A national laughing stock.

2012? It's already done. There's hardly a voter in America under 30 who doesn't see Sarah Palin as Tina Fey's caricature.

Sadly, they do this to EVERY LAST ONE of our candidates. Reagan survived it because he knew how to flip it back at the media. Modern Republicans are like deer in the headlights when it comes to the media. They still believe the media is some sort of Fourth Estate that is supposed to be an objective watchdog for democracy. Its not. Its all leftist propaganda. They control the media so they control the culture.

CNN has it’s share of the top 10 worst US journalists all time.
The Weather Channel Anchors had a much higher rating, and a higher percentage of accuracy than CNN by a 2 to 1 margin.
Larry King topped the worst list, followed by wolfie Blitzer. 3rd worst went to Chris Matthwes, 4th to Keith Olberman. Katie Couric rounded the top 5 worst journalists.
CNN’s Chuck Todd was 6th. 7th is Nancy Grace. Filling out the top ten were Dan Rather, Harry Smith and Huffington.

/sarc!!

You wonder what kind of message that sends to young women today. She’s a GOVERNOR and they paint her to be a fool. The media is our enemy.

By his logic, McCain would be on the list.

The key quote in this semi-news/semi-satire is "Ms. Palin endeavored to prevent the election of James Earl Obama as president of the United States." McCain didn't endeavor nearly as hard as Governor Palin, so he would be much further down the list.

[ When will Barak Obama be included in the spell check list? I expect I'll be typing those words a lot in the future. ]
