Is this an actual artical or are you simply linking your own blog thoughts to FR? You have no date in your “article” of when this court ruling happened and no mention of it is found on google news.

Apologies, I see the decision was linked right above my comment. Good find on your part and way to beat the media to this news!

The Washington Post referred to the lawsuit in a recent April 16 article:

“House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) reported $52,533 in legal bills, mostly stemming from his long-running lawsuit against Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) over the 1996 release of an illegally recorded Republican telephone call.”

This paragraph was included in a long litany of legal battles Republicans are fighting. Note that the way this is written, one could conclude that the Republicans had illegally recorded the call!

See post #24, links the actual opinion released today May 1 2007. The other links were to previous rulings. Looks like we have a freeper scoop.

This is probably McDermott's last strike. By now the legal bills must be over $1 million.

Bah. A million is just tip money for scumbags like Soros and Lewis. They'll underwrite any debts slimemolds like McDermott incur.

A complete vindication for Boehner and for Gingrich, too.

Yep, after, what, 10 years or so of delays and denials and legal wrangling? Cripes, Gingrich was still Speaker then. How long has that been? More than enough time for this to be flushed down the collective memory hole of the electorate. You can hear the 'Rats' refrain already: "Oh, that stuff? That's old news. Geez, you mean-spirited conservatives have to dig so far back in the past for stuff. What about Iraq? What about global warming? All of these things nowadays that are Bush's fault?"

I certainly think we had a Freeper scoop, being ahead of ALL the MSM on this, but apparently Free Republic doesn’t agree since they’ve moved the scoop from NEWS to Bloggers/Personal.

Jeez, if Free Republic doesn’t recognize legitimate news, who will?

They really should move it right back to NEWS, where it belongs. Or, does it take a NY Times byline to report news at Free Republic?

In fact, almost two hours later, the story has still not been picked up on Free Republic’s News pages.

A legitimate scoop slips away.

So?

Is Boehner going to get this money now? And is it possible to get punitive damages to PUNISH McDimwit? I mean, he knew better than to release this private conversation. And what about the former representative from Florida, democrat Karen Thurman? She was the one that got the tape originally and then SHARED it with McDimwit. Is she off scott free in this case?

"...Then how come this human debris is still my Congressman?..."

Because you still live there! You haven't yet moved into a district where an honest Republican can get elected!

(((I JUST MADE MYSELF LAUGH!!)))

I left South Bend, IN, years ago. It was a completely liberal/union city, but I always supported the Republican in my district there, even after I moved to Florida.

I'll be damned if the Republican didn't get elected the last two times .............. FRegards
