Could you tell me more about that? I know he was pretty strong on immigration issues, though.
Sorry forgot the ? to the other poster. He said it I was questioning him.
"Who's the stupid one who keeps bringing back an idiot like your RINO senator? "
I see we have one vote for "it is the rino's fault and the solution is to purge more rinos"
Santorum supported the incumbent senator specter over challenger Toomey. Therefore Santorum is a RINO.
The RINO from PA is Specter, not Santorum.

You mentioned Santorum was a RINO. Could you tell me more about that?
This soldier especially. I was there at 0700 when the polls opened. And I made for damn sure my wife and both daughters voted as well.
Mr. RINO speaks...
I am a conservative Republican and have been so for about 15 years, and I did go vote for Republicans, but I understand why lots of our side sat it out. We put the Republicans in power 12 years ago thinking they would have a revolution of sorts in Washington. They started out acting the part, but over the years, they are so much like Democrats you can hardly tell the difference. They generally act like we want them to "get along", when what we sent them to do was fight. The war is not lost, but this battle certainly is, and it's hard to say how long it will take before those of us with conservative ideas have a chance again. IF Republicans can again take control of the house and senate, I certainly hope that last night's defeat will spur them to do what we really wanted them to do. It's the will to fight that sustains a war. It's a defeatist attitude, of which I see much here, that loses the war.
The Republican defeat last night was not due to Iraq, but rather to ticked off Republicans (like myself) who are disgusted with Republican politician play-nice attitudes and the lack of courage and character to do what they were elected to do. I held my nose and voted yesterday. Not because Republicans are doing anything of substance, but because I hated the thought of Democrats back in control. I bet I'm not the only one.
And 30 years later we're STILL dealing with the compounded consequences of Carter's administration. What will we be dealing with 30 years from now? *shudders*
I think this is correct and that is why conservatism is finished for the forseeable future.
No, I did not mean he was a RINO. I just forgot the ? mark to the other poster.
I pormise to NEVER lose my will to do the right thing. NEVER!!!!!!!
There is enough blame to go around. People who didn't vote...yada yada yada. BUT...the reason people didn't vote is our idiot party leaders didn't motivate them to vote becuase of all their poor choices. They certainly didn't motivate the independants to break our way.
What we have here on FR is a ideological divide. One side says vote straight GOP even if they have stabbed you in the back over all the issues (or most) that you care about. If you want to get rid of RINO's...do it in the primary. The other side says...the best way to get rid of a RINO is to punish them by staying home or voting third party.
Honestly...I don't nkow which is best...all I know is both options stink and I hate the fact that my beloved GOP even makes me have to decide it. If I chose the first option....I am most likely going to end up with the RINO because it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of his/her sorry butt in the primary and everyone here knows it...and the very suggestion that we should do it that way is just plain stupid...it never works.
On the other hand...if I don't vote or go with a third party...I end up with a SFOLIB as the speaker.
The only thing I can say is at least with the latter option...I did lose my RINO and HOPEFULLY I can get a REAL republican the next time.
BUT...let's not kid ourselves...this butt kicking wasn't just about GOP staying home. It also wasn't just about Bush. It wasn't just about a scandle plagued GOP congress. It wasn't just about the media doing is darndest to paint us dark. It was about all of the above.
The GOP stayed home because for the last several years...our congresscritters have done nothing we asked of them.
Anyone who thinks a presidents 30 something approval rating isn't going to hurt their party in the midterms is psychotic.
The GOP was engauged in somethings on K street that the dem's never did...and some of them deserved to be brought down and thrown into jail.
We will always have to fight the media...but when you give them ammo box after ammo box...WHAT DO YOU FREAKIN EXPECT?!?
That's why we lost...all those factors. The GOP has nobody but themselves to blame...they squandered a great opportunity...and it is all a matter of philosophy on how you punish the party that let you down.
If the Republicans expect my vote in the future...they need to act like conservatives: financially...socially...and MORALLY!
Democrat Light won't do it anymore for me...and I would hope that none of you would take it anymore either. If we can't police our own...then we are no better than them.
There may not be enough left.
Well said.
