Get Well Soon, Bill Clinton

Former President Clinton is presently undergoing quadruple bypass surgery in a New York hospital. While this is a standard procedure, it is not necessarily the simplest, nor the most risk free operation one can have. Rightly, get well wishes have poured in from across the globe, and this column expresses its sincere desire that Mr. Clinton will be restored to health as soon as possible.

Some conservatives may be outraged by this extension of goodwill. After all, this amity has already been proven to be unrequited; if Democrat Underground is anything to go by, some on the left raised their glasses in celebration when Ronald Reagan died, issuing pithy statements such as “may you rot in hell you sorry evil creep!” Some on that forum even expressed a desire for President Reagan to be put on a “slowly turning spit” after his supposed arrival in perdition.

However, just as the liberals should be grateful that Ronald Reagan destroyed the Soviet Union whether they liked it or not, similarly, conservatives have many reasons to thank Mr. Clinton and wish him well. Perversely, Mr. Clinton has helped to inspire shifts in American politics and media which have been to the benefit of all.

I wish the Slickster a speedy and complete recovery; it would be a shame if he weren't around to watch his his party's slide to destruction.

I would like to add my name to the list of well-wishers for Mr. Clinton's speedy & total recovery.

I certainly want him around to see his wife humiliated in 2008.

Interesting article indeed. While I was not particularly loyal, I was a registered Democrat until 1998. I finally got so disgusted with Bill Clinton that I officially left the party by changing my registration. Thanks to Bill Clinton, there is one less registered Democrat in North Carolina.

Bill Clinton has been a big influence in my life and I too wish him a full and speedy recovery from his alleged heart surgery.

I want Bill Clinton to live long enough for history to render an honest verdict on his legacy.

This is, in a way, much harsher than simply wishing him to drop dead....

I wish him a speedy recovery as well. I have never been a Clinton hater, I haven't believed the tin-foil about him, nor do I think he is as bad as many on FR make him out to be. He is, however, Slick Willy.

Get well soon Billy boy!
