Hopefully, Mississippians won’t cave to the tyranny of Political Correctness. Fly the flag with pride.
“Fly the flag with pride.”
Yessir we do. :-)
The modern day Ministry of truth is rewriting history and stealing a proud heritage from the South- so very sad.
“Mississippians voted by a nearly two-to-one ratio to keep it. Recent ( polling) suggests the majority have not changed their minds.”
Well then go f*** off!
Hawaii has the British union flag in the same place, and the British were responsible for the subjugation of millions of people for centuries.
Go bug them.
Holy crap, this is actually a new article.
The New York Times is trying so desperately to keep this Leftist media meme from a few months ago alive.
“Mississippians voted by a nearly two-to-one ratio to keep it. Recent ( polling) suggests the majority have not changed their minds.”
They lost their chance. It’s like gun control polling after the Sandy Hook shooting, it changed for a couple of months, but then corrected itself back to normal by April 2013. Their window of opportunity has closed, most in MS still support the flag, same as they did not long ago when they voted overwhelmingly to keep it as is.
Yes and 40% of black Mississippians voted to keep old flag
They trot out the same old libtard Mississippi tiny cadre most of whom don’t even live there anymore to ask folks to be politically corrects even as every black run town or county in the state more and more resembles Liberia
It’s pathetic
Archie Manning
A eff you!
I used to love ya...got pics on me with you 1968-69
Nothing yet from Sela Ward or Brett
And a Barbour is spearheading effort to add the flap to state constitution to save it from the whims of deceit
The whole confederate whatever flag is much like black lives matter just a ruse to deflect from the utter breakdown of most black culture and absolve responsibility and get paid for it anyhow
Most Blacks blame everything on someone else....more now than ever
People have to stand up to this
Racial redress has destroyed this nation across the board
People we now call racists feared this and saw it coming
The sad part of this effort to wipe out the Southern culture is that the Libs/Leftists/Progressives ‘guilted’ the Republicans in several states into doing the dirty work of removing certain flags, moving certain statues, etc.
Pubbies are so easily manipulated, it is almost sickening.
How do you feel about The Stars And Stripes?
The Confederate Flag isn’t a symbol of racism. It’s the flag of treason.
We fly the Gadsden and the Confederate. Just to make sure nobody mistakes where we stand. :-)
Just remember the flag flown on the slave ships was not the CSA battle flag is was the Stars and Strips. Stay tough MS.
Treason? It’s my understanding that succession was an acceptable alternative until the Civil War removed that option.
By the way, my ancestors arrived and settled in Richmond, Virginia just a few years before the Civil War. Because of where they lived, one had her house burnt down and others had their supplies and livestock stolen from them by the Union Army. The Confederate Flag served as a reminder of resistance, not necessarily to the Union, but more so to the deplorable conditions that existed in the South after the war. Southerners look at the Confederate Flag and remember they resisted, fought a war and lost, but survived and are still here.
My choices too.
“The Confederate Flag isnât a symbol of racism”
The Confederate flag presided over slavery for 4 years. The Stars and Stripes presided over slavery for 76 years. But thanks for playing. :-)
TIMES SQUARE in NYC has Confederate flags. See how they twist and squirm trying to say they are NOT Confederate flags.

Yes, I know the history of slavery in America as it pertains to flags. Slavery existed under both. The amount of time that it did is inconsequential. I just asked you a simple question. You apparently choose not to answer. That says a lot.
“Just remember the flag flown on the slave ships was not the CSA battle flag is was the Stars and Strips.”
Actually, slaves were brought to North America under a number of different flags.
I wonder what percentage were actually ferried to NA (after enslavement by Arabs and other Africans) on US-flag ships.
