Below are all the biblical references to Mary, the mother of Jesus that I could locate. Anything beyond Scriptural references is conjecture, the philosophies of men and not God.
Would anyone care to construct a Scripturally accurate portrait of Mary, leaving behind extra-biblical sources?
Please include your Scriptural references in support of your description.
Isaiah 7:13-14
Matthew 1:13-25; 2:11, 14, 20-21; 12: 46-50; 13:54-56
Mark 3:31-35; 6:3
Luke 1:26-56; 2:1-7, 16-19, 27, 33-35, 39, 41-51; 8:19-21
John 2:1-12; 6:41-42; 19:25-26
Acts 1:14
Amen!
Then you may want to ditch your Maesoretic version Bibles, since the Greek versions the apostles Quote are from a collection of Hewbrew scriptures which pre-date the Maesoretic.
What about Genesis 3:15?
What about the typological significance of the "queen mother" in the Davidic monarchy?
I'll try to get back later with some verses; there are a lot of them.
I've been asking for a clarrification from the author as to which scripture canon to use but the thread starter refuses to nail it down, instead option to subjectively decide what isn't and is scripture.
When they can't find a good comeback, they call you a "newbie" or a troll, its the oldest trick in the book.
Frankly, I'm not aware of anything in any of them that is of particular relevance to the discussion, though I could be wrong.
Did you answer Claud, pjr12345??
Care to comment on post 29? I'm willing to stick with Scripture alone if you are!
If it cannot be found in the bible.
LOL..thanks
Or anti-Catholic....which you both sound like.
What was she supposed to say? "Behold, thy putative foster father not truly related to thee by blood and I have sought thee, sorrowing?"
She could have spoken the truth: "Joseph and I...". Even Jesus at the age of 12 recognized it was am untruth and corrected her in verse 49.
Does your Church have Holy Communion which Jesus said "Take This, This is My Body which has been given up for you....Take This, This is My Blood which has been given up for you....Do This in Remembrance of ME". Do you take Holy Communion that is the Body and Blood of Christ like he said to do?
Which Bible?
Since Christ said to go to the Church as It is the final authority in Christianity (Matthew 18:17), I believe Suzy is trying to understand to which church you belong, in order to understand which authority you follow.
I know it's a faulty premise, but seeing as we have utter confidence that the Fathers taught nothing but what was passed onto them by the Apostles and the Scriptures, I think this case can be made even under their totally artificial constrictions.
I love Catholics, Baptists, , non-believers, Church of God in Christ, A.M.E. and all those that I am commanded to love by G-d. I even love you Suzy Quzy. I hope you love me, too.
There are 229105 different products named Bible for sale on Amazon.com.
Which one are you referring to?
An untruth? Hardly. Joseph was Jesus' father according to the Law and family. Jesus obeyed Joseph as his son, and received through Joseph his inheritance as King of Israel. But you do inadverdantly defend the Orthodox position that James was Jesus' "brother" even though they shared no common blood.
Yes, the first Sunday of each month. We do this because Christ, the Annointed One, commanded that we do this.
