The Barbary pirates of North Africa attacked the coastal northern Mediterranean launching attacks against Britain, France, Italy and Sicily. In their feverish search for slaves a few pirates even went as far as the coast of Iceland, raiding inland to kidnap people and bring them back to North Africa. From the 1500s to the 1800s it is estimated that one million white Europeans, to include those captured at sea as well as through land raids abroad were enslaved. Many of these were Americans captured at sea.

It didn’t really wipe them out. The covert action sanctioned by Jefferson organized by William Eaton did a “regime change”. They installed an emir who was friendlier, the brother of the bad one. He didn’t last the old one came back. However, the European powers clearly embarrassed about what the US showed it could do soon cleared the Mediterranean of them.
After 1800 years of Muslim predations and belligerence you would think that we would have the good sense not to invite them in to our nation and not permit them to be active in our politics.
Not until Teddy Kennedy started his multiculturalism non-sense did the United States start admitting Muslims in any significant numbers or grant them citizenship.
It simply does not make sense to admit enemies in to your country or allow them to travel freely in your lands.
By wipe them out, I meant the U.S. put an end to the Barbary Pirates reign of terror. The cowardly European powers were embarrassed, as they should have been, by the upstart Americans.

In the New World, however, the black slaves were permitted to “jump the broom,” in addition to the prettiest of the girls getting boinked by ol’ massa.
When I was BORN, there were lots of people alive who remembered the Turks invading Armenia, killing the men and marching hundreds of thousands of women and children across the desert to the slave markets of Damascus.

The explorer of the Upper Nile River who discovered Lake Albert was Sir Samuel White Baker. His wife Florence was of Hungarian ancestry. He bought her in a slave market in Ottoman occupied eastern Europe. She was his Arabic translator during his explorations. Queen Victoria refused to invite her to court.
Obviously, a lot of white slave descendants live among Northern Africans and Turks.
Turkish sultans were descendants of many slave women, so they were pretty much European descent.
But, because there is no obvious skin color difference, it is hard to determine who is and who is not.
