The truth about WHITE Slave Trade
Forgotten History ^ | 2/12/22 | Colin Heaton

The Barbary pirates of North Africa attacked the coastal northern Mediterranean launching attacks against Britain, France, Italy and Sicily. In their feverish search for slaves a few pirates even went as far as the coast of Iceland, raiding inland to kidnap people and bring them back to North Africa. From the 1500s to the 1800s it is estimated that one million white Europeans, to include those captured at sea as well as through land raids abroad were enslaved. Many of these were Americans captured at sea.

Years ago I read about the slave raid that wiped out the town of Baltimore.

It took me a while to realize it was Baltimore, Ireland, not Maryland. LOL

I’m sure that probably happened to my ancestors and waiting for reparations to start flowing any day now

In this day and age, I'm sure white slavery doesn't count as slavery. They deserved it, right?

I looked it up on Google Gemini and all those European slaves were black.

And that’s why Stephen Decatur was a hero and we should have a holiday to remember him. “To the shores of Tripoli,” indeed.

Number of people enslaved
The number of slaves captured by Barbary pirates are difficult to quantify. According to Robert Davis, between 1 million and 1.25 million Europeans were captured by Barbary pirates and sold as slaves in North Africa and Ottoman Empire between the 16th and 19th centuries.[33][34]

reparations!

Legacy
The history of Muslim enslavement of white Europeans has been cited by some as contextualising the importance of subsequent European and American enslavement of blacks. Scholar Robert Davis noted that the larger picture isn’t so one-sided: during a “clash of empires... taking slaves was part of the conflict,” and at the same time 2 million Europeans were enslaved by Muslims in North Africa and the Near East, 1 million Muslim slaves in Europe.[36]

As Dr. John Callow at University of Suffolk notes, the experience of enslavement by the Barbary pirates preceded the Atlantic slave trade and “the memory of slavery, and the methodology of slaving, that was burned into the British consciousness was first and foremost rooted in a North African context, where Britons were more likely to be slaves than slave masters.”[37]

Until the American Declaration of Independence in 1776, British treaties with the North African states protected American ships from the Barbary corsairs. Morocco, which in 1777 was the first independent nation to publicly recognize the United States, in 1784 became the first Barbary power to seize an American vessel after the nation achieved independence.[citation needed] The Barbary threat led directly to the United States founding the United States Navy in March 1794. While the United States did secure peace treaties with the Barbary states, it was obliged to pay tribute for protection from attack. The burden was substantial: from 1795, the annual tribute paid to the Regency of Algiers amounted to 20% of United States federal government’s annual expenditures.[27]

20% of fed budget to muslims for tribute. What do we pay now?

The Ottoman Turk Emperor Selim II (who is most known for being ruler during loss of Battle of Lepanto) was born of a blond-concubine taken from Crimea (a ‘slav’) who was the harem favorite of “Sulemein the Magnificent.”

There’s a very popular Turkish TV series called “The Magnificent Century” staring German-Turkish Actress Meryem Urzurli, who played this woman, named Hurrem Sultan

So in our very typically narrow and politicized way, Americans know nothing of “white slavery” while the rest of the world, particularly the Mid-east, knows all about it, and thinks it was great.

NAZI enslaved millions. Soviets enslaved millions. Viking enslaved whites.

Heck, I am a slave 40% of the year for slobs that live off my tax dollars.

In 1795, 20% of fed budget [was sent] to muslims for tribute. What do we pay now?

Let's start with the Twin Towers and include Joe "Potato-Head" Biden's billions to Hamas..

The trade in slaves from Africa south of the Sahara was started by the Arabs, long before Europeans got into to.

“From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli....” Also, 20% of our GDP early on to ‘bribe’ them NOT to kidnap Americans. (Leave US alone.)

Absolutely! The Europeans cowered in fear of the Barbary pirates. It took the American Navy and Marines to wipe them out.

The largest slave trade was on the East Mediterranean and Black sea. Turks demanded slave tax on Christian subjects - every fifth boy had to be given to sultan as slave.
Crimean Tatars ran a huge slave operation decimating Ukraine, Russia, Romania and Poland. Millions were taken to slavery.
Crimean port of Feodosia was the largest slave market anywhere.
Turkish sultans were basically prohibited to marry (to be independent) and their harem was exclusively “staffed” by Christian slave women, as Muhammad prohibits enslaving Muslims. Sick!
