Rush Limbaugh recently told his large and loving radio audience that he is losing his battle with lung cancer and that his days are numbered.
Upon hearing that Limbaugh had been diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer this past February, I feared that that battle might already be lost. Stage IV indicates that multiple metastases have occurred, that the malignant cancer horse has left the barn big-time.
While chemotherapy does target cancer cells throughout the body, the chemo for Stage IV lung cancer is brutal and gradually becomes a danger in its own right. The average survival time after diagnosis is less than a year.
Rush knew all this. He's a smart man and undoubtedly sought out the best doctors and hospitals. Plus the best oncologists have a way of getting right to the point. So Rush knew.
He faced a dilemma that many before him have faced: what do I do with my remaining days?

Rush has been a great fighter for truth and freedom. That is why the left attacks him. I fear they will try to take advantage of his illness to do a huge final smear job.
This should be a reminder for everyone to try to get a full checkup at least once a year, even if you are feeling OK
Yes, from what he said it sounds like he had no idea he had it until it hit stage 4 which is horrifying, from feeling OK one day to being at deaths door the next. The sister of a friend of mine, her husband out of the blue one day became confused and couldn’t remember names and they found he had advanced aggressive brain cancer and in TWO WEEKS he was dead! I couldn’t believe it, and they were married less than a year, just an absolute nightmare.
The vast majority of the time, unless it’s a fully body scan, a full checkup isn’t likely to detect cancer.
I have never listened to him but that guy savage sounds like a ####.
We Always avoid talk of death in this country.
That’s why it’s so terrifying to most.
I think it is fine that Rush put it all out there.
Reminds people that this thing isn’t forever and no one has a “no expiration” mark on their foreheads.
And maybe more people will get tests done that they waited on and others will focus on what’s really important.
savage won’t bring his audience down when it’s his time.
I don’t even know what that means.
Similarly, Rush is still here but we will miss him. However, with Andrew Wilkow, Mark Levin, and David Webb in the chair, we will be just as good if not better.
I have a mass on my liver that has been there for four years. I elected not to have a procedure to go up my thigh and release radioactive pellets around the tumor. I had been sick with cirrhosis for two years before that and had an extensive hernia surgery. I was literally sick of going to hospitals. After the surgery I started feeling normal again and figured to to live whatever time I had left taking care of my property and with family. I have MRIs every six months and the tumor shrunk 50% on its own six months ago and I’m still alive and feel ok. I don’t recommend this to everyone and all cancers are different but my brother in law went through 2 years of chemotherapy and suffered greatly and still died. Other people I’ve known suffered the same fate. All I can say is that every day is a gift. And our faith in God and Jesus are the most important things. At some point if Rush wants to withdraw from the fight,I understand. Believe me someone else will pick up the torch
Sorry to hear that. I pray the tumor continues to shrink.

When Trump is elected Rush can say my lifes work is complete.
If Rush had never been born, America would look a lot different. He lead the fight of Liberty for decades.
I am praying hard for Rush to stay with us until President Trump's landslide re-election. Rush deserves that much.

I couldn't say it any better than this. God bless you, Rush .... I am praying for you/Catherine & that you make it through Election Day ... better yet, Inauguration Day (but that might be a stretch). Knowing some folks who have had Stage 4 lung cancer, once they decided 'enough is enough' & stopped treatments, the end of life was quickly upon them. So grateful Rush has been able to stay with his radio show thus far.
Of course we're all praying for a miracle for Rush, but that may not be God's plan. I listened to Rush's update on his condition the other day. I think shortly after the election, he may announce his retirement so he can enjoy whatever time he has left with his family. Others will rise up in his place and continue the fight for conservative values. Rush has done everything that any of us could ever ask of him.
As is in the old Ronald Reagan movie, a term that was used “win one for the gipper”; it is now on Trump’s hands to “win one for Rush”. Rush is a true patriot and is a worthy recipient of the Medal of Freedom award.
I wonder if we have a young Rush type out there. I hope so...
I don’t cry much anymore, but this news made me cry. How do we thank this man for all he’s done for us.

As a person who, like Rush, has formerly nicotine-stained fingers, Rushs stage 4 diagnosis made me determined to look for things early. For current or former long term heavy smokers such as myself the Low-dose CT Scan program can detect lung cancer very early.

He did not say he was losing, he just said they had not progressed. He said he was back on second base and trying to go to third.
Mega Ditto’s to that article. Couldn’t agree more.
It isn’t on Trump’s hands. It’s on our hands. No leader can win a war without an army. We are that army.
