2020’s flu season is a YAWNER compared to flu seasons IN OUR LIVING MEMORY
Argument Statement:
Over-laying 2020's population numbers onto some past flu years yields startling results. (See below)
The USA did not feel the need to ruin the economy and explode its constitutional freedoms in those years. It CERTAINLY SHOULD NOT NEED TO SO THIS YEAR
Why ARE we doing those DESTRUCTIVE things THIS YEAR??
A SOBER inspection of present events compared to past history yields the following facts:
The Numbers:
1. Had todays' USA population (~329,400,000) existed in the flu season of July 1, 1942 - June 30, 1943 at the same mortality levels, there would have been 426,000 deaths from flu. (The average monthly mortality rate was 10.8 per 100,000)
In the depths of the epidemic, the mortality rate was 20.9 per 100,000. That rate led to 25,200 deaths in the country in January 1943 alone. If we apply 2020 population numbers, that month's fatalities would have tallied 61,500 or 1,985 deaths PER DAY!
2. Jul 1943 - Jun 1944 was even worse than '42 - '43.
A United States, populated as it is today, would have experienced 877,600 fatal flu cases based on 1943 - '44's average monthly mortality rate of 22.2 deaths per 100,000
In the depths of that epidemic the mortality rate was 92.0 per 100,000, leading to 125,700 deaths in the country in January 1944 alone. If we apply 2020 population numbers, Jan 1944's fatalities would have tallied 302,900 or 9,770 deaths PER DAY!
Now for the Bitching, Moaning and Ranting:
I readily admit that the era of July 1942 to June 1944 were particularly grim, with respect to death from the flu. Flu likely touched every family without exception. However, grim as those years were...
√ The Central Government did not feel the urge to BLOW UP the country's economic stability by adding 10s to 100s of BILLIONS (LET ALONE, TRILLIONS) OF DOLLARS TO THE NATION’S ALREADY UNBEARABLE DEBT BURDEN
√ State Governments did not lock-down entire states, but left quarantining to each County Health Department's discretion on a case-by-case basis
√ Local Governments did not have officers of the law open fire on an individual surfer as he left a virtually deserted beach. Nor did they conduct raids on one-year olds' birthday parties or houses of worship that had admitted congregation numbers above a certain decreed "magic number" (even though the congregation generally was observing recommended social distancing practices).
BUT OVER AND ABOVE ALL OF THAT The National, Regional and Local Media NEVER felt the need to:
√ Stir the Nation's collective emotions into a RAGING INFERNO (creating a Panic Pandemic as it were)
√ Criticize and 2nd guess EVERY action of the President's Crisis Response Staff
√ Openly and blatantly glorify and promote the 'loyal' opposition's effort to Destroy a Duly-Elected President
√ Support the opposition's plan to capitalize on the very crisis itself to unravel a form of government perfected over nearly 250 years
√ Hide the Deep-State's diabolical sponsors' plans to exploit the crisis
√ Dishonor their sacred obligation to report fairly and without bias, the news of the day. (Instead, reporters have become debaters, and commentators are now propaganda shills)
However, Citizens Themselves have grown lax and lazy in their obligation to monitor, restrain and FIRE their ELECTED SERVANTS
Who would dare to blame Hancock, Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, Hamilton and all the rest - including my own warrior ancestors - if they were to cry out:
"WHAT THE HELL have you done to the Beautiful System of Government we SHED OUR BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS to give it to you? YOU UNGRATEFUL LITTLE @#$%&^s!!!"

I totally agree, the only way through this is through this. At the end, a large part of the population will be immune, a very unfortunate group will be dead, maybe 1.5 million but life is nothing if not terminal at some point. With a vaccine for it, the same numbers of elderly will die from it anyway as vaccinations are effective around 50% for healthy people, and 30% for the elderly who cannot make antibodies successfully. It is a bitter pill, but it has to be swallowed
I hear that they expect it to come back in September too. So we shut it all down from March to July, open it up for 2 months, then shut it down for 8-9 months once more.
Which is a self indictment of the CCP and evidence they knew they dekcuF up and tried to contain it.
