Triad area: nothing thus far.
It IS a 3 loaf alert however.
While there were a few loaves left, milk was wiped out along with cereals, some chips and soft drinks.

All of this is because of an illegal: diego el nino.

BUILD THE WALL!

Up in the tri-cities in East Tennessee, nothing here yet.

Lots of crazy people out shopping, you would think that they don’t have a single thing in their cupboard and wouldn’t make it a few days. This happens every time there’s a storm here and I don’t get it.

long underwear? Pantyhose or knit pants under loose jeans. HATS on at night. Sleeping bags are great. I had lost power for days but had gas water heater. filled tubs of hot water in one room and let them cool.

No bad weather just bad clothes. multiple pairs of socks. Cotton first, then thicker/looser over. Love my legwarmers. snow on roof acts as insulation. Cover windows. Plug door if draughty. I have a towel on the floor and use newspaper between door and wall. Should actually do that in the summer too. might want to put hand towels on top of lower window if it opens up.

Prepper ping : "Southern Sleet, Snow and Ice--Live Thread"

metmom :"Y’all really ought to prep for winter.
Make sure you have a generator on hand and run it a few times a year to keep it in prime.
Clean it in the fall and make sure you all have gas for it.
..Stock up on some essentials and don’t count on a trip to the store should bad weather happen."

Another prepper item that many forget, even with a generator is to have "stabil" on hand for gas,
otherwise your gasoline could go stale.( Also, there is stabil for diesel).
Best advice is to dress in multiple layers of sweaters, coats , and woolen socks, and 'bundle up'.
Warm up the house beyond your normal temperature while you still have heat and electricity; walls and furnishings will retain heat.
Your best warmth friend in all seasons is a good quality sleeping bag.
Multiple wicked candles can be used as an emergency heat source; if no candles, stick several cotton wicks into a can of Crisco.
Remember when you were a child, and made a tent under a table covered with blankets ?
Well, that same tent under the table can help retain body heat; if you can't heat the whole house, go small and stay under the blanket wrapped table.
Kerosene heaters put out a lot of heat, but also a lot of moisture.
When storing them for off-season, wrap in plastic or make sure they are totally dry, or put a desiccant in the storage bag.

H/T to metmom !

Your old stomping grounds expecting it around 12:30 to 1:00 tonight. Then it is 3-5 inches tonight and 8-12 inches tomorrow. Hope the power stays on.

I have lived in Massachusetts since the 30s-——I find this entire thread hysterical-—it IS December.

Y’all may also want to take the “mini-ice age” data into consideration.

Indeed. In my opinion, the coming solar minimum is going to dominate the news throughout 2020 and beyond.

The plummeting temperatures will figure largely in the presidential election. Trump will be thoroughly vindicated for his anti-AGW stance, while the entire left is exposed for being fools, cultists, and liars.
