In a word..."mixed". There was alot of US House "dead" GOPe Wood cleared out last night chief among it was "Speaker" Ryan and his ilk. Let face it the loss of the House really SUX, BUT we HAVE to get to work NOW on the 2020 Election! Get REALLY good solid candidates recruited NOW. The Dems WILL overplay their hands(they ALWAYS do) and they WILL be dumped in 2020! Silver lining, WE OWN the Senate!

Don’t be ridiculous. Stupid comment.

GOOD NEWS:

1.GOP PICKED UP A LOT OF SEATS IN THE SENATE

2. CANDIDATES WHO HAD TRUMP CAMPAIGN FOR THEM WON, THOSE WHO DID NOT LOST.

3. THE GOP LOST FAR LESS IN THE MID-TERMS THAN OBAMA AND CLINTON DID.

It was unfortunate we lost the house, but it was not a sweep.

NEED TO WORK ON BLACKS, HISPANICS, STUDENTS AND WOMEN FOR 2020.

THE GOP NEEDS A MUCH STRONGER GROUND TEAM FOR 2020. LOCAL PARTY KOMISSARS DID AN AWFUL JOB!!!

The American people deserve the government they get and they overwhelming want free crap with a generous portion of "compound interest" (That does not exist with taxes/withholdings) associated with some of that crap. You can only kick the can so far, the road ends eventually.

Democrats prey on this obviously, while "moderates" play the high and mighty narcissistic role preventing anything of lasting substance that fixes bad legislation/policies and curtails various "Iron Triangles"/agencies. It's a no win situation because the "stink" is still there, while being held hostage by a Rep that is enamored with themselves because they think it's not getting worse under their service. Guess what, the "stink" grows regardless.

ain't that the truth. Ed Cox as NYS GOP Chairman is cozy with the Dems and only wants to attend their cocktail parties. He lose 3 house seats, he should resign in shame.

LOL....by the looks of all of the replies, to your post, looks like YOUR comment was the stupid one.

Good attempt at coming back to reality, in the rest of your reply, though. ;-)

I am a bit concerned that the perception of Trump’s trade policies hurt in states like Iowa, states he’ll need in 2020. We need wins in that area before then.

Massive vote fraud, on purpose, and it can only be addressed by the Administration.

That Trump needs to purge his administration of the “Resistance” or the country is doomed.

The House will become a permanent source of inquiries, and like the fake Kavanaugh accusers, it will mostly be lies.

Trump needs to double down on tariffs. Only 2% of the US workforce is involved in farming. ~15% are in manufacturing. Do the math.

“Unlike most Freepers, I don’t hold the GOP accountable for any “failure” on health care.”

I hold them accountable for failing at full repeal. With full repeal of O’Care there would have been a chance for market factors. Instead we have the worse in place in perpetuity - a huge government bureaucracy, rules & regs on the healthcare industry, virtually no competition in the private insurance market. As soon as the Democrats have the White House again the infrastructure is in place to reinstate crushing regulation on hospitals, doctors and other players.

Free markets work best with many competitors, rapid price discovery, and large open markets. We have none of the above in the healthcare industry. Obamacare has encouraged the formation of large oligopolies of healthcare providers, many of which are monopolies in individual markets. There is no pricing transparency for the individual - pricing at the provider level is negotiated by insurance cartels and is not visible to the individual. Membership in a cartel (employer group health plan) is required to get favorable pricing. In addition there is no interstate competition. Insurance is sold on a state by state basis under the regulatory authority of state insurance commissioners who make rules to preserve the power of the cartels.

Imagine what rapid price transparency could do in the current age of the internet. If providers were required to post the prices they charge for various services on their websites entrepreneurs would develop search engines for individuals to use. I could instantly see and compare the prices all the specialists in my local area charge for office visits and various procedures. I could see if cash discounts were offered. I could see that she charges Blue Cross customers 75% of the price of those with Humana insurance. Information gives consumers the power to push back on prices.

If the GOP Congress couldn’t fully repeal Obamacare (thank you John McCain, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski) it could have passed amendments to the legislation providing for pricing transparency by doctors and hospitals (i.e. list prices on the internet for cash sales and the prices extended to the individual insurance groups for each procedure). With this information, individuals would have the opportunity to shop providers and negotiate prices. Another amendment should have been passed to allow insurance companies to sell across state lines. A third amendment would have eliminated all mandated coverage (i.e. pediatric dentistry for 60 year olds, maternity benefits for men). This would have allowed health insurance suppliers to provide custom solutions for individuals and lower cost plans which didn’t include benefits specific individuals don’t require.

If something isn’t done to bring market competition, we will have single payer socialized healthcare within 10 years. The infrastructure is in place, costs are continuing to rise, the quality of care in 10 minute doctor visits is poor. As the Democrats planned, the day is coming when people will demand socialized medicine.

Granted, Cruz could have been “on the ground” a little more, but I still contend that election fraud was rampant. If the truth were known, I think we would be shocked by the extent of it.

I am in the state senate district which flipped to a Democrat. It was held by infamous Wendy Davis before, but Konni Burton shouldn’t have lost it.

Might not be that bad, but the trend is clear. The slim wins in Texas, GA and FLA are a harbinger of what is coming......every election we will be having fewer conservatives and masses of new Marxists from our government schools who have been dumbed-down and brainwashed for 12 - 16 years.

They will be completely taking over in 4 to 8 years.

Trump was a reaction to Obama. We are now seeing a reaction to Trump. It will not diminish and I think his chances of re-election in 2020 are now slim.

The next time the Dems get full control, they will make it so they never lose again.

LAST THOUGHT: SHAME on the House Repubs for NOT getting the WALL....it will never happen now......

A lot of the voters are sheltered from the effects. Look, most people in the United States aren’t trying to start a small business, most people are fine with the system as it is where getting a part time minimum wage job is the worsemail alternative to how theyes are living. Some people have jobs as teachers which aren’t effected like corporate jobs, and I could go on.

Well, on the positive side, Clinton and Obama lost far more seats in THEIR midterms.

You are right about the Demographics.

And I blame the GOP. They need a High Command General Staff on the National Level along military lines. They need sub commands targetting respectfully, Hispanics, Blacks, Asians, Women and College Grads recruiting and employing activists among those groups.

They need to think strategically NOW along these lines, but
the GOP has demonstrated an ability far below that of Dems in achieving these goals.

FOR STARTERS: Colleges take Federal Funds. Some of them, like STATE COLLEGES and COMMUNITY COLLEGES are government connected. Local governments and local government employees which receive or handle Federal Funds are subject to the Hatch Act.

Trump should use the HATCH ACT to cut FEDERAL FUNDS from state connected colleges AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS which interfere with the free and open exchange of political information by functioning as a mouthpiece for ONE political party, i.e. the Democrats.

They need to cut ANY Federal Funds that go to the NAACP, ACLU, SPLC and other de facto arms of the DNC.

They should have IRS closely scrutinize political contributions from big dollar donors like Bloomberg, Steyr,
Soros and other leftists.

Just some ideas to address this situation.

Good ideas all......but until someone has a plan to take back the Marxist control of the education system, it will keep pumping out dumbed-down, brainwashed Marxists by the millions every year.

It’s only a matter of time before we are far outnumbered.

And no one has a plan for reversing the results of this - no one.

We’d better wake up or like the frog in the pot we’ll find one day we are cooked.....and that day is fast approaching........
