The saddest day in American History
Personal Observation | 9-7-2018 | David Herbert

Posted on 09/07/2018 10:36:35 AM PDT by DH

Today’s date is 9/7/2018. It is a day in infamy that will go down in history denoting America’s turn from individual thought, freedom of thought, individual responsibility of one’s own actions, freedom of expression, and the death of the America I used to know. .

Did the “consistent conservatives” send you back to spread your message of cheer?

I really don’t think the country is hyperventilating over a self-aggrandizing speech by a has-been politician despite the media’s gushing over him. It just isn’t that big a deal.

All of you laugh and joke about it now but I don’t think you will be laughing after the next presidential election or the upcoming elections for our federal and state congressmen and and senates. Excuse me! “Congress persons.” Now, that’s better isn’t it? I am one of the first “Free Republic” members who joined many, many years ago. I’ve watched this site morph from a staunch conservative site to what you people have just exhibited. It’s a shame because many of us who were members when FR started are gone and replaced by young members who didn’t go through the early wars with the liberals. After all of these years this is my last post or visit to Free Republic. It is not the same one I joined those many years ago.

Oh come on, everyone here feels for your frustration but all we can do is send a few buck here and there and then vote in November.
It’s frustrating.
BTW
I’m only half kidding when I say we should head for DC.
I was almost was banned in 2009 for trying to rile up support for a guillotine party.

in which the “parrots” (educators) are forced to follow the liberal agenda

You have that wrong, the majority willingly follow the the liberal agenda. There is an extreme shortage of conservative professors anymore.

It couldn’t be them, they had no problem, with Obama’s 8 years. Just Trump’s first 2 years.

The problem with Conservative professors is that they would want to recognize the real world which we live in.

They are realists and know that Utopia cannot be achieved, especially by government.
It’s like telling little kids the truth about Santa Clause.
Bummer.

Who wants to be a professor?

There were plenty at one point in time. Now the majority have been run out because they are not up for the fight unfortunately. Besides administrators won’t let them be hired.

When you lead with “day in infamy”, you really need to follow up with stronger stuff than what you shoveled out here.

How do the challenges and fears associated with the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI, Great Depression and WWII - compare to the challenges we face today?

It would seem that past generations of Americans faced great obstacles and threats to freedom and their way of life.

Like past generations we have our own giants to fight. In the words of Winston Churchill, we should: "Never give up, never give up!"

"Every test that you have experienced is the kind that normally comes to people. But God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it, and so provide you with a way out." - 1 Cor 10:13 (GNT)
