Robert De Niro had a few choice words for President Donald Trump while the legendary actor was on stage at Sunday’s Tony Awards to introduce Bruce Springsteen’s musical performance.
“I’m going to say one thing, F— Trump,” De Niro said while pumping his fists in the air. “It’s no longer down with Trump. It’s f— Trump.”
The political sentiment earned De Niro a standing ovation from the crowd at Radio City Music Hall, while CBS scrambled to bleep the audio on the live telecast. After the audience settled, De Niro got back to talking about Springsteen, who received a special Tony Award during Sunday night. The intimate show, “Springsteen on Broadway” — or as De Niro referred to it, “Jersey Boy” — features the Boss performing his music and sharing stories from his 2016 autobiography “Born to Run.” Tickets to the exclusive concert residency, which has been extended twice, are upwards of $850.
“Do you have any idea how hard it is to get tickets for Bruce Springsteen’s show on Broadway? It’s easier to get tickets for ‘Hamilton,’ and that’s got a much bigger cast, actual dancing and a history lesson,” De Niro joked.
So when De Niro finally got the call to see Springsteen play live, he said ‘yes without asking any questions.”
“Bruce, you can rock the house like nobody else,” he said. “And even more important in these perilous times, you rock the vote, always fighting for, in your own words, ‘Truth, transparency, and integrity in government.’ Boy, do we need that now.”

He is too much on a hate Trump binge for this to be just a normal “I don’t like the guy” reaction.

Bobby baby needs a scriptwriter so he can become more Mort Sahlish, Bob Hopish, or Will Rogersish. He lives off the ideas and words of others and his gutter bombast this last year illustrates how bankrupt his mind and vocabulary are.

Dear Theatre Wing:
Last night my young daughters and I were subjected to the crass, obscene political opinions of an actor, during what we thought was an entertainment/award show. I enjoy political humor. But this was not that. The members in the audience displayed their viciousness and emotions by standing an applauding this arrogant, man who uses the mic to spew his venom whenever he can. This is not the fort time and the wing should have anticipated it. Or maybe you did.
It was very offensive and for a parent difficult to explain “why is that man so angry mommy, isn’t this a time for celebration?”
My daughters and I look forward to the show. They both have ambitions for Broadway and movie careers. But I will give it one more chance next year and then if this type of speaker appears, we will be done with it and encourage our friends to do the same.
Wishing for a more pleasant family show.

That’s what DH and I were saying about a half hour ago. There’s something wrong with him. Maybe nasty skeletons in his closet. Maybe serious insanity. Either way, he could present a threat to PDJT.
Some of these people should be charged and locked up for a while.

He's an out of shape friend of Harvey Weinstein, and he was a scrawny punk when he probably serviced someone in Hollywood to get an original job.

DeNiro is two years older than me and I'd beat him to a pulp.
But ....... I really avoid physical fights. However, I ran into one about 48 years ago. I hit the guy once ( a very short uppercut to the jaw) late at night, closing time, in front a bar, after he jumped out of a car in some kind of a rage.
The poor sucker went down like a load of bricks. Thank God, this was a very popular bar, as I said it was around closing time and there always was a policeman there. He saw what happened as I drilled that guy in self defense, and he just told me to leave. I did.
I never punched a guy before that or after that, but I must say it felt really good for hours afterwards.
DeNiro is a punk. (DeNiro and Biden behind the barn ......... step right up.)

Some people here and elsewhere are saying that his over the top hatred of Trump is because he fears that he is going to be caught up in scandals (happening now) of sex trafficking and sex with under-aged girls.
I don't know if it's true, but that would be something to worry about given that he ran/runs with that sick crowd.
