The new Magnum being a minority..?
I sorta expected that.
But then Higgins turned out a sassy, hot blonde British female.
And then "Higgins" started roundhouse kicking KGB contractors in the jaw, knocking them out. And giving "Magnum" a whole lot of lip.
And that's when I got very scared and angry.

They don't seem to have any new ideas and the wave of revivals and reboots give off a sense of desperation.
I have noticed in some long-running series that they are basically repeating plots. After a while, the writers run out of ideas, so they revamp from previous scripts.

As usual directors are forcing “being cool” on everyone.
That’s what made Higgins so great. Higgins didn’t fit Hollywood cool, but played his role with brilliance.
Magnum wasn’t a boy and didn’t need the over-the-top visual tricks that this trailer can’t live without.

I don’t know if they can capture the nuance & the comic/tragic jumps the old Magnum was famous for. The clip was not too bad. I doubt it will match up to the original.

I watched about half of the preview and turned it off.
As expected, the ‘ reboot ‘ is farcical.
’ Higgins ‘ the 25 year old female British Double Secret agent - yeah, right.
This movie is going to bomb.

From the descriptions of the ‘new’ series for the coming season, I suspect a lot of them won’t make it beyond a few episodes before they are relegated to Saturday night or pulled completely.
Many ‘new’ series start out with order of 10 or so episodes. If it seems successful, they order more. One big problems is showing 2 or 3 new episodes, then breaking for a week or two or a month, then showing 2 or 3 new episodes and breaking again.
