Seriously, if the law forces us to let them in - which is happening as we speak - why are we talking about "The Wall"? I suddenly realize today that the wall will be a big waste of money if we still have to let them in to apply for asylum. They are in whoever they are - no vetting possible. Period. And then we feed them - welfare - food stamps - free housing - free healthcare - free schools ... and here we go again.
Or am I missing something?

We pretty much have open borders. Ive kinda just accepted that this country is screwed.
When only one side plays by the rules this is what you get.
Looks like .... Any Country can take US, - anytime they feel like it.
Wall or not they have the right to get in LEGALLY through the door to ask for asylum. If not accepted they may be sent back but the point is that our laws let them in! Then they disappear and voila .. may be now they will be detained until the court decides but frankly I doubt it.
May be I misunderstand what I am hearing.

They have to touch US soil. The Wall won’t let them reach US soil. A few, very few might reach but Border Patrol leadership stated the very few that make it will be easier to manage.
According to Border Patrol, the 100 miles of wall in San Diego have cut illegal border crossings by at least 95%. Trump’s design will cut by more than 99%. WALLS WORK.
POTUS knows the catch and release laws are wrong and don’t work. He’s not sitting down about them. He’s going to get the Wall built and he’s going to get the laws changed.
They have to be physically present in this country before they apply for asylum. If they can’t get in, they can’t apply.

No they don’t, and furthermore they have no right to ask for asylum here as they have already set foot in a “safe” country, Mexico.
They have not a leg to stand on, legally. Any rulings in their favor will be arbitrary and political.

Once “asylum” is claimed, the laws
in the books have to be followed.
