Does this also count people who just use cable to access the internet?

I can't understand why there would be a lot of complete cord cutting since often cable companies can provide high-speed internet connection at lower prices than telephone companies.

Unless everyone is using their cell phones to watch movies.

How sad if that is something that more and more people find acceptable. If so, they're going to have to eliminate the Oscar for cinematography.

There’s nothing on, and it’s too expensive.

I cut the cord 2 years ago and I have not missed it at all. Who in their right mind pays over $100 a month for 100 channels that are all commercials anyway?

2009 - 10% of homes subscribed to a streaming TV service
2017 - 55% of homes subscribe, a 450% increase.

Al Gore is very proud of how well his baby has done.

Hard to believe, but 23 short years ago we were debating this:

IS THE INTERNET THE INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY?

October 3, 1995 | News

We cut the cord about 6 years ago.

Who in their right mind would keep renting a fleet of cars when only about 2 or 3 of them actually ran?

It’s really the same difference with cable/satellite packages. What I do not like is the subsidizing of channels I loath, such as CNN.

FU CTV!

Streaming on the other monitor while I Freep.

Cut the cord in 2007(?)

This is a good start. Hope cable tv keeps trending down. It will push the cable companies to offer a la carte programming.

Just cut the cord yesterday. Saves me $140 per month. Magic Jack and ‘whatever’ for video.

My $200/month bundle includes landline I only use for fax, basic tv and fast 300 Mbps internet. I’m looking to cut cable in the not too distant future.

Would love to cut it, but since cable is not an option on my road, I’m stuck with broadband through the phone line, downloading at a lighting-fast 1.5 mbps, so streaming is also not an option

Cut the cord and went to a Tivo OTA box. Lots of local channels and sub channels. Coupled with Hulu, amazon Prime and Netflix; saving a whole lot of money.

I bought my first Roku in the summer of 2008. By Halloween we turned in our cable box and TV cable receivers and cut the cord.
I haven’t missed the cable at all.

Cable monopoly played strong handed for far too long. Their customers hate them, nobody wants their product even at a cheaper price. People want the cable company out of their lives.

Anything they try now is far too late.

Cut the cord January 2017. Netflix, Hulu, and OTA antenna with 70+ channels.

I don't miss hundreds of channels of crap loaded with commercials one bit!
