Enough volcanos going off to send us into a severe cold spell
Remember when Krakatoa blew the world experienced a year without a summer

Yes, and more sulfur dioxide than all the coal power plants too. I have stood on the edge of several volcanos having steam eruptions and she sulfur smell is overpowering.

The year without summer was 1816, precipitated by the eruption of Tambora in 1815, the largest explosion in recorded history. Krakatoa was in 1888 and not as large but more publicized because more westerners saw it.

I can just see the UN reports from 2019:
“The pace of global warming was less than expected. The numerous eruptions of Mount Sinabung in 2018 released large amounts of ash, which scientists say reduced the amount of sunlight reaching the earth. Without the eruptions, earth temperatures would surely have been the highest ever recorded based on previous models.”

I found an old hard-cover book on Krakatoa at the thrift store (well - 1970’s old!). But it has all sorts of great drawings from ships in the area, old photos and ship’s logs. Pretty amazing how much data was recorded - harbor levels of the tsunami, etc.

So true and we are only beginning to enter the beginnings of the grand solar minimum and all the “fun” to come.
