There will be no medal for American skier Lindsey Vonn in the Olympic super-G at the Pyeongchang Games. She had a fast run going before a mistake near the bottom cost her valuable time. Tina Weirather of Liechtenstein leads after the opening eight racers. Vonn will have another chance in the downhill. At age 33, she is trying to become the oldest woman to win an Olympic Alpine medal. She won bronze in the super-G at the 2010 Vancouver Games — to go with her downhill gold — but missed the 2014 Sochi Olympics after surgery on her right knee.

I stopped watching when the love fest over Vonn came on last night. Fell asleep until after the faux 11 P.M. news, thank goodness, because I didn’t want to hear about the Russia crap, then I saw a little of the show till 2 AM.

I stopped watching at the very beginning of the broadcast because of Katie Couric and the adoring cuts to Vonn. Both are disgusting. I can’t help wondering if the low number of viewers is because of them and the general anti-American slant to the coverage.
Rippon did not medal in the other men’s skating events ...the only medal he got was in the TEAM event...

The irony is, outside of American athletes, they don’t give a flying fig about any competitors from other countries, it’s “All US...All the Time.”
This is the first time I haven’t watched a second of the Olympics. I browse twitter and thought he won something but wasn’t sure. He’s a jerk!!!!
