The forecast keeps getting better and better for Disney and Marvel Studios' Black Panther, which opens in North America on Friday. Hollywood's leading tracking service, NRG, on Monday revised its opening weekend estimate to $165 million or more, according to sources with access to tracking. That's for the four-day Presidents Day weekend.

It takes place in the fictional land of Wankanda, that’s where all the men are Wankers.

At least they did not turn another one of my favorites from a white guy to black, like they did with Nick Fury. I agree with you. Whenever I mention how I don't like how they changed the race of a fairly major character I get stares like I am some racist.

Probably true seeing this has become a SJW cause, for the same reason l wont be seeing it.

I’m sure it’s inferior to my two fave blaxploitation flicks. “Meteor Man” and “Carwash”. “Soul Plane” was a real good time too. Gotta love Dogg Poop as the pilot smoking a blunt.

It will get the same audience as Shaft and Blackuka. When Shaft came out, the now ex-wife and I were the only two white people in the theater. Not kidding.
Loved Shaft the TV show as a kid. Enjoyed the movie too. Really liked that they had Richard Roundtree in the movie.

Its a fraud. They are trying to create the band wagon effect..ie everyone is seeing it. I think you're right. You see that technique used (well, attempted) more and more since things started "going viral." They try to morph an online buzz about something into real-world sales. The online "buzz" is becoming increasingly artificial....

haha....thanks ! I should have thought of pre-sales. I guess I’m old enough that you just bought a ticket when you actually went to the theater.......

All the Marvel films do pretty well at the box office. I expect this one will, too, though I won’t be seeing it. I liked several of the Marvel films, but am thoroughly burnt out on superhero movies now; and I have no interest in revisionist SJW/BLM crap.

I was scarcely aware that this character existed before Captain America: Civil War. Black Panther has been in comics since the mid sixties. He's called Black Panther because he (at first) had a black panther as a sidekick.
