Mother of armed robber shot dead by man defending his children: ‘Why did he shoot him five times?’

After an armed man entered a Popeye’s restaurant in San Antonio last month and reportedly pointed a gun at a customer’s children, that customer — a licensed concealed carrier — shot the gunman dead.

But now the mother of the deceased 19-year-old gunman is asking why the father who fatally shot her son chose to fire more than once.

The mother’s question is not unexpected. When confronted with such an event, logic is not there for many people. The real question is how much humanity do you lack to be the reporter who choses to print such a wail.

Give the interviewed person solace and comfort and just report the necessary information. Don’t be the journalist that makes the grieving mother look foolish and inflames everyone that reads about this justifiable homicide. Get a job where you won’t be a disappointment to your mother.

The real question is how much humanity do you lack to be the reporter who choses to print such a wail.

That irrational wail serves the reporter's agenda. Make gun owners look bad. Make (privately owned) guns look bad. Ban guns. Empower the State. Promote the Revolution.

What would Jesus do, kill or be killed? I think this lady assumes that Jesus would shoot to wound, with the hope that a single bullet of any caliber could be aimed true enough to keep he and his family from being murdered by criminals with illegal firearms.

Exactly. If someone is a threat to my family, myself, or innocent bystanders and I shoot them 5 times you can bet it is because I'm carrying my 5 shot .38. If I'm carrying my Glock G19 they're probably going to catch 6 or 8 JHP 9mm. They'll get all 16 if necessary.

You shoot when your life is in danger. You shoot to end the threat. You don't stop shooting until the threat has ended. If the target is still capable of conscious movement/control of his/her limbs, he/she is still a threat, you keep shooting. You. End. The. Threat.

What the hell? How much deader do a couple of additional bullets make the guy? Is her concern that her son would look neater in the box without so many holes? If he is threatening people with a gun, the defender shoots him enough times that he falls down and his hand can no longer manipulate his gun. That may take a few. Not every CCW holder is Roy Rogers and can shoot the gun out of the bad guy’s hand.
