Monday, September 18, is National Cheeseburger Day.
Yup. We are too.
Two cheeseburgers, sack of fries and a large soft drink. Got change back from a dollar bill. Cow Corner, 1965. Talk about the good ol’ days!
Had one yesterday. Preemptive strike.
I would gladly pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today.
We had a chance to try JCW’s “The Burger Boys” in Utah last week. Had never heard of them before. ?? Maybe it is a regional franchise? VERY GOOD burgers!
FYI - if you can find it in your area (or purchase it online), you should try the JFG brand “Sandwich Spread”. It’s identical to Big Mac sauce.
No Pepsi. Liberal crap. Coke only.
I’m in. Where’s that flux capacitor?
I agree entirely. I was just referencing the SNL skit about Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago - “cheeseborger, cheeseborger, cheeseborger, Pepsi - no Coke”. Back when SNL actually was funny.
Don’t I wish!
Don’t I wish!
Not sold here. My HEB store is the only game in town and has shelves that could rival any in Venezuela. That and due to budget restraints, I do a lot of scratch cooking. The recipe posted is so good, I could eat it straight from the jar... and do.
I thought it was “No Pepsi. Coke”, meaning they only had Coke?
I will gladly pay you tomorrow for a cheeseburger today
ING 28 oz lean beef (not extra lean) 2 tablespoons finely minced onion salt & pepper to taste 4 tablespoons cream cheese 2 oz . shredded cheddar cheese 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1 fresh jalapeno pepper , diced (seeds removed if you prefer less spice) 1 tablespoon olive oil Rolls & Toppings as desired
FILLING In a small bowl combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder and diced jalapeno.
ASSEMBLY Combine meat, salt & pepper and minced onion. Divide meat into 4 even pieces (7oz each). Take 1/4 of the cream cheese mixture and flatten it into a pancake shape. Wrap beef around the cheese ensuring the cheese mixture is completely covered. Brush each burger with a little bit of olive oil.
GRILLING Grill over medium heat 6-7 min each side til completely cooked. (Turkey should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees and beef should reach 160 degrees.)
BROILING Place burgers on a foil covered pan approximately 6" from the broiler. Broil 5-6 min each side til completely cooked (internal 160 degrees).
My husband’s suggestion for dinner today. Cheeseburgers with bacon.. I used smoked provolone.
I have this on as background noise right now.
We got this chalkboard a couple of months ago and family members write out the burger of the day for fun on it.
