In 1997, a forensic examiner in Berlin reported one of his more unusual cases in the journal Forensic Science International. A 31-year-old man had retired for the evening to the converted garden shed behind his mother’s house, where he lived with his German shepherd. Around 8:15 p.m., neighbors heard a gunshot from the direction of the shed.

The German shepherd was calm and responded to police commands. On the way to an animal sanctuary, the dog vomited some of its owner’s tissue, including skin with still-recognizable beard hair.

Apparently, the owner disagreed with the dog’s palate.

But that's no reason to shoot him. I disagree with my friends on many tastes, but I don't kill them.

I say the dog is guilty. What alibi did he give?

“Put up for adoption with a record of eating human remains?”

“German Shepard up for adoption. Loves to eat red meat and has very strong bond with his master.”

I’ve got a bichon. Cute as heck, very personable, best doesn’t bark unless your playing with her but has the IQ of a potato.

If she figures out I’m someday now food, no problem.

I can tell you that I have two dogs a shitzu mix and Pomeranian.... the shitzu is real smart and would be able to fend for himself. he would probably not eat me. my Pomeranian I have no doubt would be snacking on my corpse with in two days.

Saxon opted to eat the adopter’s candy bars rather than the adopter. The coroner estimated the adopter died of a heart attack a week earlier.

“I can tell you that I have two dogs a shitzu mix...”

I would imagine that the German Shepard in the article had quite a Shitz You Mix too.

I got one for my mom (RIP) to replace her poodle.

Oops.

I think you’re being generous by equating her with the potato.

The potato, no doubt, has the superior intellect.

But, she’s a good girl. So, what ya gonna do......?

Gotta fall into some ice, at least.

I wonder how many mistaken cases there are when they find the dead owner has been ‘mauled’ by the pet. Perhaps the owner died and then the pet starts to eat on them.

There was an epi of the X-Files that had this as a brief and humorous story thread.

And points to the writers for off'ing the dog (that Scully took in) in the next/future epi by having it eaten by an "Ogopogo" creature.

I spent a lot of time in New Orleans after Katrina.

People and dogs trapped in houses with their owners.

They found dogs in houses more than a month after the storm.

People deceased, cat deceased, dogs had a full belly.

We had a goat I had purchased to eat weeds on.l my property. Trouble is he liked eating everything but the weeds. My youngest daughter had grown attached and was concerned when it came time for the BBQ. I told her, that it was all part of the circle of life. That we honor the goats sacrifice by partaking of his flesh, and by doing so he would forever be a part of us.

Maybe it’s the dog’s way of doing the same.

If the door is left open on its cage, even a starving parakeet will peck the eyes out of its dead owners head just to stay alive.........

And don't even get me started on what hamsters will do........

“You’re a real dog lover, I can tell.”

You will find no one that loves dogs more than me.

My border collie saved the lives of my family and I.

In another situation, my other border collie absolutely saved my life.

I owe the lives of my children to those dogs, I would have laid down my life for them.
