That one isn’t hard to tell.
a dead heart isn’t pumping blood anymore and if the owner is alive much of the damage will be to the owner’s hands.
This one wouldn’t take any medical training whatsoever to ascertain.

I have a bichon too. She’s smart as a whip. Had to be living with two large dogs. If I were the only food source, she would figure a way to get a large portion and hide it away from the other two.

Nor so sure that a dog, even if starving, would eat the dead body, but cats would.
If the rats don’t get there first.

Disgusting, of course but it is not unusual for a human to eat another human and yet some readers think a hungry dog would not do so?

The dog did not remain silent, he coughed up the evidence.

I would rather be found dead having been eaten by my pet than get found dead with a blow up doll, like my great uncle Louie done did...yesiree...uncle Louie was a fungi.

In extreme situations, dogs (and their close relatives like wolves) will eat other members of the pack. Given that dogs see their human companions as part of the pack, we could be on the menu in extreme situations. Welcome to the pack.
