California has banned non-essential state-funded travel to four states in response to what Attorney General Xavier Becerra has decided are anti-LGBT rights laws those states have enacted over the past year.

Texas, Alabama, South Dakota and Kentucky join the list first created last year. North Carolina, Kansas, Mississippi and Tennessee were the first states put on the list.

California tax dollars “will not be used to let people travel to states who chose to discriminate,” Becerra said.

Good point.

Where is the Ninth Circus on this aspect?

But dropping euphemisms for a minute, so we have evidence that gays will be “discriminated” against a as result of admitting more muslims to the united States, the gays being US citizens, how can the 9th circuit court of assorted leftists and homosexuals ignore this?

California seems to be determined to build a wall of their own.

That has been on my mind since they started this nonsense. Same thought with the state’s requirements for out-of-state egg producers (and probably other things). Couldn’t this lead to a trade war between states? Maybe a Freeper with knowledge in this area could enlighten us.

Doesn’t this, in effect, interfere with the Constitutional intent that only the U.S. Congress can regulate inter-state commerce? I think this would be worth a shot by DoJ to sue CA and flush them out into the open. At a minimum, retributional harassment would seem to be fair.

Keep Kalifornistan out of Arizona ... they come over from S0. Cal and trash our beaches on the Colorado River. Laughlin has permanently cancelled the annual river regatta because of the way they trashed the beaches during the last regatta this last year.

That is why this is such BS and just headline making. Every person who is going on a trip will classify it as essential and go happy as a clam. I bet not on trip was cancelled in any of the previous states mentioned. I would love for someone to investigate that.

Trust me ... more than a few here on the Arizona border talk about building a wall between us and Kalif. ... and we are only half joking.

They’re discriminating against states that discriminate.

It’s not just this. California seems set on using their economic clout to dictate to the rest of the country. It’s time to draw the line and tell California to mind their own business.

non-essential state-funded travel

I think I see the problem right here and it has nothing to do with the thrust of this article.

Since we get a LOT of Kalifornistanese visitors here ... I do get to talk with them on occasion. I have run into more than a few who say they are conservatives ... and they think they are. Unfortunately, what they consider conservative is viewed as flaming liberal on the Arizona side of the border

Hopefully, Calif. will build a wall to keep it’s citizens inside it so they don’t spread their socialism.

Well, that just changes the border wall a little bit. We hand California over to Mexico, build the wall, problem solved.
