Christian soccer player Jaelene Hinkle has withdrawn herself from the U.S. soccer team after it was announced that the squad would be wearing rainbow colored 'gay pride' jerseys in their upcoming game. She cited "personal reasons" for her refusal to play, according to The Christian Post.

The star proudly declares Colossians 3:23 on her Twitter which says: "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men." "If you live for people's acceptance, you'll die from their rejection," the tagline also notes on her profile.

"Who is it hurting"..."How does this affect you"

Unless you own a bakery... or a bed and breakfast... or a wedding venue... or... or... or... - and you don't want to be sued out of business.

She should be allowed to wear a shirt - “I’m not proud of your gayness”

I may not have been clear in making my point with those quotes. I was pointing out that we were told the issue of "equality" would have absolutely no effect on us, our lives, businesses, churches, etc.

We knew better and see those results today.

“Does anyone see a way back from this insanity?”

If it comes to more violence, the consequences are unpredictable. The USSC needs to overturn Roe v Wade, gay marriage and other social/economic legislation best left to the states. That would de-fuse a lot, (but not all) of the prevailing antagonism and create geographic ideological centers that might the enhance mobility needed to separate us from them. 14th Amendment needs to be repealed as well.

I admire her stand, but let's not mischaracterize this. She's not being "persecuted" at all. She won't play for the team because she refuses to wear the official jersey they'll be wearing for the game.

This would have been no different than Colin Kaepernick retiring from the NFL because he didn't want to stand for the national anthem. We may not agree with him but it would be a principled thing for him to do -- not "persecution" by any definition.

The next step for the women’s national team will be when men, who identify as women, begin to take the women’s spots.

I guess the Jews weren’t being persecuted when forced to wear the star of David, either. Right?

What is essentially happening here is that they are forcing those who want to play in the game to celebrate homosexuality by wearing its banner.

Those who refuse cannot play. That’s persecution.

That has to be the most ludicrous argument I've ever seen here on FreeRepublic -- and I've seen a lot of them.

Those who refuse cannot play. That’s persecution.

The Pittsburgh Penguins just won the Stanley Cup. If a player on their team wanted to wear a Montreal Canadiens jersey and then quit the team because he refused to wear the black and gold colors of the Penguins, would that be "persecution?" Get real.
