It is the final day of Donald and Melania Trump's first official tour as President and First Lady, and it looks like 47-year-old Melania is eager to go out with a sartorial bang. Having made a chic arrival in Sicily, where her husband is attending a G7 summit, on Thursday evening wearing her third outfit of the day, Melania stepped out on Friday morning in the coastal down of Catania, making a very stylish statement in a floral coat by Dolce & Gabanna, which was covered with colorful 3-D flower embellishments - and came complete with a matching $1,630 purse by the Italian luxury label. Ensuring that all eyes would be on the $51,500 jacket, Melania opted to pair the quirky piece with a simple beige dress and nude heels, adding a pair of sunglasses to protect her eyes against the bright sunshine.

One of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I’ve had was in the 70s - a platform, open-toe shoe with an ankle strap and about 4 inch chunky heels. I have no idea why they were so comfortable, but I could wear those all day.

People probably do that. I watched Covert Affairs on Amazon. That girl was running on high heels all the time. In Hollywood and Fashion the wear and tear on the feet is bad.

I always hated nylons. I think they make shoes more uncomfortable too. Your feet slip and slide in the shoes when you have them on. My OB/GYN hated them too. She told me many times to quit wearing them all the time when I was younger. They really weren’t good for women.
I was super happy when women started throwing them away. lol

Then, there’s Sicilian almond confetti (Jordan almonds, but bigger). Quite the treat. Or a cup of coffee. Yum.

If they are painful, I ditch them. I have quite the shoe collection. Shoes are like men’s ties. I wear little black dress all the time with a gray or black jacket. The shoes can be a little more. But no, no pain. Discomfort? Sometimes after a long day. But like I said, if you wear Bruno Magli, Jimmy Choo, good quality shoes, no pain. Did you even read my responses?

No matter, you don’t like or wear heels, your prerogative, your choice. I can wear what I like.

“Don’t you just miss seeing Chewbacca stepping off AF1 in her Walmart seersucker shorts with her butt cheeks hanging out, flip-flops on her feet, big scowl on her face, and her hair looking like it had just left a blender?”

Thanks for the laugh! Chewbacca needed to resign itself to the fact that a linebacker in drag is ALWAYS going to look silly!

I worked 2 jobs wearing 3 inch and over heels. I had a full time day job, 8 to 5, and cocktailed/bartended at night 6 to 2.
I’ve had multiple foot surgeries. Podiatrist told me the bones were all broke down in my feet from it.
My back is a wreck now too.
But boy did I look good! lol

The 80’s were the best for me. I worked for a fortune 500 company, shopped in Bloomingdale’s, drove a new Firebird and lived a heavy metal life at night. FUN FUN FUN.

51K? What utter nonsense.

That is a handmade garment. This is NOT mass production. The flowers are attached by hand-sewing. They are not just printed on the fabric. The labor cost is the main reason for the high price tag.

How are your knees? that is also what can get destroyed by shoes.

The jacket is now SOLD OUT, too. Apparently, some people like it.

If one looks close, the fabric for the lining of the jacket matches the fabric for the dress and shoes.

Funny but my knees are fine. My feet are good now too after multiple surgeries. It’s my back that gives me fits.

I wonder if D&G has an outlet store?

They might do sample sales at the end of seasons. Or check their boutiques for end of season sales.

The jacket is pretty and a tall woman like that can carry it off - on a short woman it would overwhelm her. Also, I notice that it’s draped over her shoulders - smart move so that it can quickly be removed and makes it even less overwhelming.
