Having made a chic arrival in Sicily, where her husband is attending a G7 summit, on Thursday evening wearing her third outfit of the day, Melania stepped out on Friday morning in the coastal down of Catania, making a very stylish statement in a floral coat by Dolce & Gabanna, which was covered with colorful 3-D flower embellishments - and came complete with a matching $1,630 purse by the Italian luxury label. Ensuring that all eyes would be on the $51,500 jacket, Melania opted to pair the quirky piece with a simple beige dress and nude heels, adding a pair of sunglasses to protect her eyes against the bright sunshine.

I said you are lying if you say they don’t cause your feet to hurt in court...well..unless..you are parking right outside a small claims court and are sitting most of the time. I know the amount of walking it takes in a typical court room setting. You aren’t getting away with no pain...unless you do what many do and wear flats until you get to wear you are going.
They can and do hurt...and it would be lie to claim they don’t.
It would also be a lie to claim you can walk around as a tourist in a city on pavement for hours with no pain.

I was a headhunter for a corporation. Been retired 10 years and didn’t wear nylons for at least 10 years before that. Only people you ever see wearing them in the last 20 or so years are old ladies. They refuse to give them up. lol

Exactly. She dresses 100% appropriately for every venue. Sicily is bold and fun and the outfit is perfect for Sicily. I’ll bet her designers had a blast working with her to put together wardrobe for this trip.
Don’t you just miss seeing Chewbacca stepping off AF1 in her Walmart seersucker shorts with her butt cheeks hanging out, flip-flops on her feet, big scowl on her face, and her hair looking like it had just left a blender? I despise that cow.
This is the most gorgeous outfit I have ever seen. I can’t think of anyone as of late who dresses like FLOTUS. Just amazing and makes me thank the lord everyday.

So how far can you walk and how long on pavement and concrete carrying a briefcase or rolling a briefcase with 4 to 5 inch stilettos in an A frame shape with no hose in May..with no pain?
Did you read my answer? I am not walking a mile or half a mile. I park at the Appeals court and walk about two blocks to the courthouse, then to the elevator. Now, that said, in a lengthy trial (which for me doing family law is three days) I am on my feet about half the time (sitting when it’s the opposing party’s side) all day every day. Once the shoes are broken in, it’s totally doable. Comfortable as Nikes? Nope. And I will say this: Patent leather is the least comfortable because no give. Closed toe leather — medium. Sandals, strappy with stilleto heels? Winner. Your feet can breathe, move. But not good for a trial with a judge. Ok for a status conference or a motion. Live and learn.

hose? Black, in dead of winter. As soon as I can ditch them, I go bare legged. I think the shoes are more comfortable without. I skied with no socks in ski boots, walk in Nikes with no socks. Anti sock/hose I guess, haha.
In the 80’s I wore 4” heels from 7am into the evening hours. I am paying for it now. LOL
But weren’t the ‘80s fun, though? And the ‘70s? (In spite of the heels.) ;)
Oh, for a big trial with boxes of documents, I drop them off at the door and then park. All the little work arounds you figure out on the way.............

Melania could look good in a burlap bag. It isn’t the clothes, it’s the style and grace of the woman wearing them.
I saw a news clip some time ago that said women wearing stilettos can get collagen injections in their foot pads to help with the ability to wear the shoes without discomfort. Looking at the shoes these women wear, I would not be surprised at all.
