Yes, Powers Boothe played a perfect Curly Bill Brocius in the movie Tombstone.

Clooney, Damon and a half dozen other metros couldn’t hold Powers’ coat. He will be missed. RIP

Besides all those mentioned, I liked him in “Extreme Prejudice” with Nick Nolte and Rip Torn.

“Real Western”

Yes, Powers Boothe played a perfect Curly Bill Brocius in the movie Tombstone.

Played against the character of Val Kilemer as Doc Holiday they were absolutely perfect. Two extremely violent men and with just one a bit more humane than the other. However, Doc Holiday had a sense of humor as opposed to Curly. It was two brilliant actors in perfect sync. Tombstone was a great movie.

The end was bitter sweet. Doc Holiday looked down and saw he had not boots on as he died, and said, "I be damned."

Powers Boothe and Val Kilmer were both great in Tombstone, in my humble opinion, one of the best Westerns ever made, and I've seen them all. Certainly one of the most period correct Western films.

I have read that Kurt Russell took over when things weren't going right and directed most of the film.

Love that move. Been too long since I’ve seen it.

The translation to that song is interesting. I always wondered.

................

O, parlez - nous a boire,
Non pas de mariage,
Toujours en regretons,
Les jolis jours passes.
S’it a ti maris, avec une jolie fille,
Te tands de grand danger, mon cher,
lls vont a la voler.
O, parlez - nous a boire...
S’it a ti maris, avec une vilaine fille,
Te tands de grand danger, faudra,
Que tu fais ta vie avec.
S’it a ti maris, avec une fille bien fauvre,
Te tands de grand danger, faudra,
Travailler tout ta vie.

O, parlez - nous a boire...
S’it a ti maris, avec une fille qui a de quoi,
Te tands de grand danger, faudra,
Attraper des grandes rapproches.
Parlez - moi, mon grand bon - a - rien,
Tu ta gaspiller mon bien!
Parlez - moi, mon grand bon - a - rien,
Tu ta gaspiller mon bien!

.................

Let’s talk of drinking, not of marriage,
Always regretting those pretty days gone by.
If you marry a pretty girl,
They all want to steal her away from you.
If you marry an ugly girl,
You’ve got to live with her your whole life long.
If you marry a poor girl,
You’ll spend all your life working.
But if you marry a rich girl,
Nobody respects you.
“Tell me about it, you big good - for nothing;
You’ve used up (wasted) all my wealth!
TelI me about it, you big good - for nothing;
You’ve used up all my wealth!”

RIP Mr. Boothe

As a child, his memorable strong performance as Jim Jones left me impress with his acting. He made me believe he was really Jim Jones, not many actors can leave a mark. Then in Red Dawn.

Very sorry to hear this. I remember him in By the Dawn’s Early Light and other good movies. I heard he was a pretty decent guy. RIP.

They tolerated his bombast and guns, but....THAT level of honest patriotism was just too much for Those People.

Many people don't understand how "Those People" censor the movies that you watch.

I could never figure out why one of my favorite movies, The Postman, didn't do so well and got trashed by the critics.

It's because it's VERY patriotic.

"He was fantastic as Philip Marlowe in the HBO series “Philip Marlow, Private Eye” back in the 1980’s. RIP Mr Boothe"

I liked that series as well.

They really captured the 1930s "look" and atmosphere.

At the time, I even bought one of those brass fans he had in his office, because it looked so cool.

He was good in even small roles like in "Cruising" with Al Pacino, as the oily handkerchief/porn dealer, where he tells Pacino what each type of "color" meant if you carry it in your pocket.

John Milius made great movies. I have quite a few of them in my personal collection.

Those people want you to see downer movies like ‘American Beauty’ and ‘Pleasantville’ that mock and denigrate traditional American culture.
Those people can KMA.
Postman was a good movie.

Wow! That’s a real blow. A truly great actor. And evidently, a really great guy.

RIP Powers Boothe

IMHO-—”The Postman” is an excellent book, but many were disappointed that the movie used the name, but very little else from the story.
