I have a friend who is a retired public school teacher. She is very likeable and in some areas an independent thinker. One day in conversation she brought up the terrible poverty and near-anarchy that prevails just on the other side of America’s southern border. It quickly became clear that she believed America was at fault, that America’s prosperity was somehow the cause of Mexico’s problems. When I asked her what the solution might be, she replied without hesitation that we should get rid of that border, and not stop there but get rid of all borders. Then, she said, people everywhere could live in peace......
You have to admit that American Lennonism has a certain logic. If America is the problem, then getting rid of America’s borders is an important and even an essential step toward a better world. But if America is not the problem, if America deserves to live, if there are still many Americans who want America to live, then not so much. And if getting rid of America turned out to be a mistake, it would be a mistake impossible to undo.

The loonies can speak about open borders because they have no direct experience with it, nor does it have any financial repurcussions for them.
This needs to change. One thing I’ve learned about “liberals”, is they are very generous with other peoples money. In what passes for logic in their mind, forcing someone else to give up their money under force of law and giving it to someone else counts as a good deed. Personally they are tighter than bark on a tree.
“Charity” for them means giving away something that doesn’t beling to them.
Make them pay. Literally send them the bill for the direct costs of foreign nationals living amongst us. No more cost shifting to the rest of us. Make them pay, and start shutting down programs and services that are affected due to lack of money. Explain why, publicly and repeatedly, and at length, so everyone understands in no uncertain terms this is what’s happening and why.
Once the “liberals” start feeling the crunch, they’ll have ICE on speed-dial and will be patrolling the border using their vacation days. This shit has to stop. It’s not by accident every avenue seems to be rigged, it was done this way slowly and methodically over the years. Follow the money.

Our “wonderful” teacher takes boundaries for granted all the time. Guaranteed, she has a door, which has a lock. She takes for granted that the government will enforce her border.
I wonder if anyone on the planet believes that communism erased/erases poverty. It doesn’t. The commie countries hide it. There are poor people everywhere, no matter which system they live under.
